Schneider-Kreuznach has unveiled the Xenon 1.6/35mm Xenon 1.4/50mm and Macro Symmar 85mm, three new lenses for full-frame single-lens reflex cameras. The Xenon 1.6/35 mm and Xenon 1.4/50 mm lenses are equipped with an electronic interface to the camera and a mechanical automatic iris for Nikon cameras. The Macro Symmar on display with an 85 mm focal length and a maximum aperture of 2.4 has a motorized iris and an electronic interface for the Canon EOS system. The automatic aperture function is driven exclusively by the camera. All lenses will be available for Canon EOS and Nikon-F systems. Pricing and availability to be confirmed.

SLR Magic has unveiled a brand new cine lens. The APO HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 is an apochromatic lens featuring a completely new optical and mechanical design, which meets the demands of high-resolution cameras including those with 4K and 6K sensors. The lens comes standard in PL mount and can be easily adapted to numerous camera systems. Optional mount adapters will include a PL-mFT adapter, a PL-E adapter, and an EF mount conversion adapter. Featuring a standard focus rotation angle of 300 degrees, the SLR Magic APO-HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 will be on display at Photokina, Cologne 16th to 21st September 2014. The SLR Magic stand is located in Hall 5.1, Booth L-011. SLR Magic will start shipping the APO-HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 in early 2015. Pricing to be confirmed at a later date.

The Sony FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS is the world’s first interchangeable 35mm full frame digital lens with power zoom capability. Ideally suited to cameras such as the Sony A7 and A7S, the new FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS has three separate rings offering independent control over focus, zoom and aperture, with optimal torque for a satisfyingly responsive, professional feel. Powered by the SSM drive, the zoom is exceptionally smooth and silent. Zooming speed can be precisely controlled over a wide range, with the ability to switch zoom rotation direction as desired to suit personal preference (available on selected cameras only). The minimum focus distance is 40cm at the 28mm end and 95cm at full telephoto. Sigma has announced two new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lenses. The Sigma 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports (pictured) delivers enhanced, professional-grade optics and greater durability for challenging, high-action photographic situations. The 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary is a versatile lens that offers similar performance in a more compact and portable design. Both versions of the 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM feature a dust and splash-proof construction, as well as new water and oil-repellent coating on the front and rear lenses. They boast an updated optical stabiliser that features an accelerometer for improved vertical and horizontal panning. The Sigma 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports is priced at $1999.99. Pricing and availability of the 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary is not yet available.

Sigma has announced the US pricing and availability of its new 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM lens. Designed exclusively for APS-C camera sensors, the Sigma 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM features a 35mm equivalent focal range of 27-450mm. It incorporates four “F” Low Dispersion (FLD) glass elements, which have performance equal to flourite, in addition to one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass element to minimise the chromatic aberration. Also, this lens comes with a newly developed optical image stabiliser for improved shake compensation. The lens will become available in October for the street price of $579.

The Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS is a new full-frame fish-eye lens, which will be officially introduced at Photokina in Cologne on 16 September 2014. Offering a 180-degree angle of view, the Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS has a complex optical construction comprising 12 elements in 8 groups, including three elements made of low dispersion ED glass and two aspherical lens elements. Availability and pricing have yet to be confirmed.

The Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R APD - billed as the world’s first AF lens with an apodisation filter - is a new ultra-fast telephoto lens for Fujifilm's X-series compact system cameras. Offering a 35mm equivalent focal length of 85mm, the lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.2, making it the world’s brightest autofocus lens designed for digital cameras with an APS-C sensor. The XF56mm F1.2 R APD offers "brilliant levels of sharpness," even when shooting  wide open at f/1.2. In addition, the apodisation filter smooths the outlines of out-of-focus highlights resulting in superior bokeh. The apodisation filter delivers its best results at wider apertures. To enable wide apertures to be used even in bright environments, an ND filter is included that adjusts brightness in three levels. To indicate the apodising effect, the lens features an aperture ring showing the effective F-number in red. The difference between the FNo. and the effective FNo. indicates the effectiveness of the apodisation filter. The Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 R APD will be available in the UK from November 2014 with a suggested retail price of £1099.99.

The Fujinon XF50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR is a new weather-resistant X Series telephoto zoom lens featuring optical image stabilsation and the world’s first Triple Linear Motor, which enables quiet and high-speed auto focus. With a 35mm focal length equivalent of 76-213mm, the Fujinon XF50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR has an optical construction with 23 elements arranged in 16 groups, including 5 ED lens elements, and 1 Super ED lens element with low dispersion characteristics. Fujifilm’s unique HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) ensures ghosting and flare are controlled for sharp, clear images. Also, using the newly developed Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating technology, which alters the refractive index between glass and air, ghosting and flare are effectively reduced for diagonal incident light, the company says. The Fujinon XF50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR will be available in the UK from November 2014 with a suggested retail price of £1249.99 

The Zeiss Otus 1.4/85 is a new short telephoto lens for Canon EF and Nikon F-mount cameras. Featuring 11 elements in 9 groups, this 85mm f/1.4 lens is claimed to deliver "unprecedented" image quality, even wide open. "Specifically, that means a neutral bokeh in the background, highly detailed images without any optical artifacts, consistently high resolution power across the entire image field, no colour fringing or distortion, and an extremely high image contrast all the way into the edges," the company says. The Zeiss Otus 1.4/85 will be available worldwide with EF-mount (ZE) and F-mount (ZF.2) from mid-September 2014. The recommended retail price is €3,360.50 / $4,490.00.

The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE is an ultra wide angle lens aimed at videographers using Micro FourThirds cameras. Offering a 20mm equivalent focal length in 35mm terms, the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens has a maximum aperture of T2.1, ideal for low-light photography and cinematography. Other notable features include a silent “clickless” aperture ring, an 11-bladed iris diaphragm and an optical formula comprising 13 elements arranged in 11 groups. The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens will be available from resellers at the end of October 2014 with a MSRP of £699 / €869.

Olloclip has introduced 4-in-1 photo lenses for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S4. Each of these quick-connect conversion lenses offers fisheye, wide-angle, and two macro optics in a single package. With the fisheye and wide-angle lenses adjacent to each other, selecting a lens is as simple as shifting the desired lens over the device’s camera. The macro lenses are cleverly revealed by unscrewing either the fisheye or wide-angle lens. The olloclip 4-IN-1 lens retails for £59.99.

Zeiss has announced two new manual-aperture, manual-focus lenses for Sony's E-mount full-frame compact system cameras. The Zeiss Loxia 2/35 (€1149 / $1,299) is a 35mm f/2 lens that features 9 elements in 6 groups and weighs in at 340 grams. The Loxia 2/50 (€849 / $949) is a 50mm f/2 "normal" prime comprising 6 elements in 4 groups. The Loxia 2/50 will be available worldwide starting October 2014 and the Loxia 2/35 from the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.

Two years after its introduction, Olympus is launching the all-black edition of its M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2 Micro Four Thirds lens in the United States. Equivalent to a 24mm ultra-wideanlge optic in a 35mm system, the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2 (read review) is a high-grade, all-metal, fast lens that features built-in depth of field and distance indicators, making it ideal for zone focusing. In the U.S., the lens will be available for $799.99.

Zeiss are set to launch a new family of lenses at Photokina, dubbed Loxia. Rumoured to be for Sony FE full-frame mirrorless cameras (A7S, A7R, A7), the new range will be joined at the show by another Otus full-frame DSLR lens as well as new rangefinder products. Zeiss are currently running a special interactive puzzle on their blog which will eventually reveal the new Photokina 2014 products.

Samyang have officially announced the 50mm f1.4 and T1.5 lenses, due later in 2014. The much rumoured 50mm lenses will be available in the Samyang 50 mm f1.4 AS UMC photographic version and the Samyang 50 mm T1.5 AS UMC VDSLR cine lens version with decoupled aperture and follow focus gearing. Both lenses will be vailable in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Sony A, Fujifilm X mount, Pentax and Micro Four Thirds (MFT) fit, retailing for £449 for the f1.4 lens and £479 for the T1.5 version.

Lensbaby has launched  the LM-10 Sweet Spot Lens for mobile devices and the Sweet 50, a 50mm selective-focus optic compatible with the Lensbaby Optic Swap System for SLR, mirrorless and motion picture cameras. The LM-10 ( $69.95) is less than 1.5 inches long and weighs in at 0.7 oz. It attaches to a mobile device fitted with a strong adhesive-backed stainless steel ring. Additionally, the lens has magnets on both ends, which allows it to be used alone or in conjunction with other magnetic mobile lenses such as those made by Photojojo. The lens comes with a free iOS or Android app, which is required to select the focus point and properly orient the image. The Sweet 50 optic ($299.95) is a 50mm selective focus optic with a 12-blade adjustable aperture ranging from f/2.5 through f/22. Along with controlling depth of field, the aperture controls the size of the sweet spot of focus.
