Serif have published a sneak peek video detailing what’s new in Affinity Photo v1.5, projected to be available in the Mac App Store in early autumn. New features include andvanced HDR exposure blending, a novel way to edit 360 degree images, an entirely new workspace for tone mapping, batch processing, focus stacking and macros. Canon today introduced five next-generation Maxify wireless inkjet printers. The MAXIFY MB5420, MB5120, MB2720, MB2120 and iB4120 printers offer improved functionality, such as increased print speeds, management information base (MIB) support, and select models offer larger LCD screens. Leica Camera has today announced that the APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH. is now available in a silver anodised version. This lens is characterised by extremely high contrast rendition – at maximum aperture and throughout the aperture range. The use of a floating element in its design ensures that this quality is also maintained at close shooting distances. Eight lens elements are employed to achieve this outstanding optical performance. A treasure trove of photographic memorabilia from brands including Leica and Nikon, will be offered as part of the Robert White Collection Sale, taking place at Bonhams on 19 September 2016. Jon Baddeley, Bonhams Global Director of Collectors’ Sales, said: “As one would expect from a man who made cameras and photography his life’s work, the pieces collected by Robert White are rare, of immense quality, and are of historical significance. From the Leicavit MP, no. 294 – which is in completely original condition to how it was made some 50 years ago – to a Leica III that comes complete with a very large wooden dummy model for shop displays in the early 1930s. Nikon have issued a firmware update for the Nikon D500 digital SLR camera. Version C1.02 addresses an issue that sometimes caused errors with certain UHS-II SD memory cards. "As we were able to confirm that these were read errors arising not in the camera but in the cards themselves, we addressed the issue with a work-around that switches temporarily to UHS-I mode when a card-side error occurs in UHS-II mode," the company said in a statement. "The camera switches back to UHS-II mode when turned off and then on again or when the standby timer restarts. Card-side read errors may still occur after the update, albeit very infrequently." Canon today announced its new Canon Connect Station mobile application for the Canon Connect Station CS100 device. The new app makes it easy to connect to the CS100 device from a compatible smartphone or tablet. Users simply connect to the same wireless network and open up the Canon Connect Station app to start browsing, uploading, and downloading images. They can also drag-and-drop images from their computer or select multiple images at a time. The application can save over 1,000 images at one time and easily identifies previously saved and stored photos, helping to eliminate duplicates stored on the Canon Connect Station CS100 device.
