Hasselblad have released version 2.0 of their image processing software, Hasselblad Phocus. The Kodak Pic Flick iPhone app, which enables consumers to print pictures wirelessly on the KODAK ESP 5250 All-in-One WiFi-enabled printer, can now be downloaded free of charge from the iPhone App Store in the UK. Announced at the beginning of last month, the Pic Flick app lets you print photographs directly from your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch, in sizes ranging from 3x7.5cm to 21.5x28cm. All you need to do is ensure that the printer is connected to the same LAN/WiFi connection as your iPhone or iPod Touch. The KODAK ESP 5250 AiO printer, available since September 2009, is the latest in Kodak’s range of AiO consumer printers, claimed to produce lab-quality, long-lasting photos and documents.

Epson have released the free and easy-to-use iPrint photo printing app for iPhone and iPod touch. Now available on the App Store, iPrint lets users print wirelessly on Epson network capable printers including the Artisan 810,  Artisan 710 and WorkForce 610. “With the holidays quickly approaching, many special moments will be captured on an iPhone and Epson is providing users with an easy way to print high-quality photos of these special memories onto Epson printers using the Epson iPrint App,” said Epson’s Steve Semos.

Olympus have released an update for their free raw development software, Olympus Master. Version 2.3 adds Windows 7 and Olympus E-P2 support. It also gains two new art filters, Diorama and Cross Process, introduced with the Olympus E-P2 camera.

Photodex has just released a new version of its slide show software for photographers, ProShow Producer. Version 4.1 offers integrated uploading to Facebook, Vimeo and Twitter, and also features an all-new Slide Style Manager and dozens of new, user-requested features. Users with Facebook and Vimeo accounts can now directly upload their slide shows from ProShow Gold or Producer 4.1 to their profile. Slide shows are sent in video format in either normal quality or high definition. Once a new slide show has been uploaded, it can be automatically announced on Twitter using ProShow 4.1’s new Twitter feature. ProShow automatically creates a new tweet announcing a show upload and provides a link for followers to view it. Nevercenter has officially released CameraBag Desktop for Windows, a photo editing program featuring a range of vintage photography filters. CameraBag started out a year ago as an iPhone app, followed by a desktop version for the Mac earlier this year. CameraBag Desktop offers a new approach to photo editing, which is allegedly not found in any other Windows photo software. “We think Windows users, like Mac and iPhone users, will really respond to CameraBag’s streamlined approach,” said Thomas Plewe, Nevercenter President. “Most of our users already have a complex editor such as Photoshop, but they gravitate to CameraBag for its quick, professional results. Lifephoto.com, an online digital photo gift store and photo sharing site, has announced that its photo sharing book previewer can now be posted and shared on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. The Previewer is Lifephoto’s sharing tool that displays a user’s photo book in a “turning-page format” during the book-building process. The user can e-mail the Previewer to another person who can then also view the book. Now Lifephoto has added additional sharing options by adapting the Previewer for use on social media. Joby, makers of the famed Gorillapod line of innovative tripods, have launched an iPhone app called Gorillacam. The application, which was actually created for Joby by a company called AppTight, endows the Apple iPhone with a range of standard camera functions such as a self-timer, an unlimited continuous shooting mode at up to 1.6 frames per second, and auto-saving of your photos in the background; but also adds a few advanced features such as a shooting grid overlay, a time-lapse function and a two-way electronic bubble level. Those wishing to take a photograph of themselves will appreciate the option of turning the whole iPhone screen into a shutter release, while anyone whose portraits have ever been ruined by the subject’s blinking will applaud the 3-shot burst feature that allows the iPhone camera to take three photos in rapid succession, at a single tap. Sigma has issued a statement on the compatibility of its cameras and software with Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 7. The company notes that the Sigma SD14, DP1, DP1s (pictured) and DP2 are recognised as a mass storage device by Windows 7, but the Sigma SD9 and SD10 are not. Users of these cameras can transfer their photos to a computer running Widows 7 via a Compact Flash card reader. Version 3.5.2 of the Sigma Photo Pro software can be used on computers with 32-bit Windows 7 installed, albeit with limitations that are to be solved by an upcoming software update. 64-bit operating systems are not supported.

DxO Labs have released DxO Optics Pro v6.1 for Windows, an update that adds RAW support for 3 new cameras - the Canon EOS 7D and PowerShot G11, and the Nikon D3000. For this new release, DxO Labs fixed several bugs and also made some improvements to the user interface, based on customer feedback and suggestions, including full-screen display mode for increased visual comfort, additional shortcuts for improved productivity and additional presets for increased flexibility. Furthermore, 56 new DxO Optics Modules are now available to DxO Optics Pro users, covering the Canon 7D, 400D, 450D, 500D, Nikon D3, D300, D300s, D40x, and D3000; the Olympus E-30, E-420, E-510, and E-620; and the Sony A300, A850 and A900. AKVIS Software has released an update to AKVIS Enhancer, an image enhancement program that improves image detail, fixes dark, hazy, or out of focus photos, and can create HDR images. AKVIS Enhancer works in four modes: Enhancer, Focus, Smart Correction, and HDR mode. In first three modes you can improve a picture using one single shot; in the HDR mode you need a series of shots, but the result is impressive, the company says. The program is available in two versions – as an independent program (standalone) and as a plug-in to a photo editor. Version 11.0 adds a new interface design, gains Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 / Snow Leopard / Windows 7 support, and the plug-in version now supports the Smart Filter function in Photoshop CS3 / CS4. 64-bit support has also been added to the plug-in version. Registered users of Version 10 can upgrade to Version 11 for free, while to owners of older versions, upgrades to v.10-11 are available for $29. The full price of AKVIS Enhancer is $69.

DxO Optics Pro v5.3.6 for Macintosh brings full compatibility with Snow Leopard, and adds support for 15 new cameras. Newly supported models include the Canon EOS 7D and PowerShot G11, the Nikon D3000 and D300s, the Olympus E-410, E-420, E-450, E-510, E-520, E-620 and E-30 as well as the Sony Alpha DSLR-A230, A330 and A380 models. This can be simply specific rating and above or based on Smart Collections with the flexibility to create a slideshow from practically any meta-data available, the developers say.
