Olympus have just released update 2.0 for their image sharing app OI.Share. The free app allows images taken on a compatible Olympus camera (using a FlashAir memory card) to be shared without the need for cables or waiting until you get home and in front of a PC. More importantly, OI.Share gives forthcoming owners of the new PEN E-P5 the ability to control the camera wirelessly using the PEN's built-in Wi-Fi. Version 2.0 makes the app available to Android users.

TeoreX has updated its Batch Inpaint software to Version 2.0. This application allows removing or retouching undesirable objects pretty much like its flagship cousin Inpaint does, and offers means to process multiple photos at once. VSCO has announced that its iPhone app, VSCO Cam is now available for free. The app supports Focus and Exposure Rings plus White Balance Lock for increased creative control. The Library boasts multiple thumbnail sizes for a customisable browsing experience, as well as the ability to organize, favorite and filter images. "The superior technology of VSCO Cam is best seen in the editing of images," the company says. "VSCO Cam includes a default set of Presets and Tools whose strength can be adjusted, allowing for efficient editing and precise customisation." VSCO Cam is available on the iTunes App Store.

Resolution is a new app released by Cypress Innovations, which has been specifically designed to let users see every last pixel of the images on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. "Photographers who want to view all the details of their images will appreciate the ability to zoom in without restriction," the company says. "The app enables users to look at full‐sized images and thumbnails in a folder at the same time... The image information (exif information) and location information of the images is also viewable, and raw images can also be viewed, on supported devices." The Resolution app is currently awaiting approval from Apple.

Triggertrap today announced updates to both its iOS mobile app and product line. With its latest update, the Triggertrap Mobile iOS app enables trigger response times that are up to 12 times faster than previously possible (improved from 60 milliseconds to as low as 5 milliseconds depending on the device used), complementing its launch of the Triggertrap Flash Adapter accessory (see video after the jump). The Triggertrap Flash Adapter sells for $29.99 and is available for direct purchase through Triggertrap’s online shop at the website below.

Brian Griffith has released Version 2.1.1 of Iridient Developer, his critically acclaimed image processing software for Mac OS X. This release features all-new, native demosaic processing for the Fuji X-Trans (X-Pro1, X-E1, X100S and X20) cameras, in addition to the existing support for these cameras using either Apple's RAW libraries or Adobe DNG (linear) format conversion. The new demosaic method provides improved fine detail rendering, even better sharpness and other advantages over Apple's conversion. CamRanger is now compatible with a free Android application available in the Google Play store. CamRanger is a device that wirelessly controls Canon and Nikon digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras. The CamRanger has a wireless range of up to 150 feet for wireless tethering for photography and video monitoring and control. DxO FilmPack v4.0.2 is now fully compatible with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5. Available in two editions, Essential and Expert, DxO FilmPack v4.0.2 can be installed as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 and 5, Photoshop CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6, Photoshop  Elements 10 and 11, Apple Aperture 3, and DxO Optics Pro v8.2, and as a standalone application for Mac and Windows - all with the same license.  DxO FilmPack v4.0.2 is available at a discount through June 30, 2013.

Fujifilm has announced two X-Pro1 and X-E1 firmware updates which will offer faster auto-focusing and the addition of a “Focus Peak Highlight” function. The first firmware update is available today, and the second on 23rd July. Other new features include a ‘Focus Frame Selection’ option, a second ‘Fn’ button, and aperture control for lenses without aperture rings.

Capture One 7.1.3 adds new camera support, bug fixes and beta version of a new catalog importer. It includes file (and tethered support in Capture One Pro) for Canon 700D/Rebel T5i and 100D/Rebel SL1 cameras, as well as 11 other recent cameras. Capture One version 7.1.3 is a free update to owners of Capture One Pro 7, Capture One Express 7, and Capture One DB 7 (digital back) software.

Adobe has announced that Creative Cloud will now be using GoodSync’s backup and synchronisation technology to allow user to access files anywhere. Adobe Creative Cloud is a membership-based service that provides users with access to download and install Adobe creative desktop applications, game developer tools and integration with the Adobe Touch Apps. With Creative Cloud membership, users also have access to: a vibrant global creative community; publishing services to deliver apps and websites; cloud storage and the ability to sync to virtually any device; and new products and exclusive updates as they’re developed.

Intelligent Imaging Solutions has released piccure, billed as "the first fully automated software tool to correct camera shake." As a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop (CS4 and above) and Photoshop Elements (version 7 or later), piccure automatically detects and corrects image blur resulting from involuntary camera movement. The software runs locally, on a standard computer, and users do not need to worry about their privacy: piccure does not upload any images into the cloud to be processed by some company’s servers, the developers say. The Photoshop plug-in is available for $99, while a simpler version designed for Elements (without multiprocessor support) can be purchased for $49.

The major update to Adobe Creative Cloud that was unveiled at Adobe MAX in early May is now available. Adobe’s desktop tools, previously known as Creative Suite (CS), are now branded CC to reflect that they are an integral part of Creative Cloud. “We’ve added a ton of new innovation to all our CC desktop apps like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. These apps include new features that increase productivity, streamline the effort to build mobile content and showcase some stunning new imaging and video science. Phase One and Profoto today announced that photographers can now link their Profoto studio light to the aperture or ISO settings of their DSLR or medium format camera system. While shooting tethered in Capture One Pro, any changes to the aperture on the camera will cause the light intensity of the studio light to automatically compensate an equivalent f-stop. For example, if the photographer switches from f/8 to f/5.6, the light will drop one f-stop, so that the image is not overexposed. Digital Film Tools have released version 1.5 of Film Stocks, a film simulation plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Apple Aperture and Final Cut Pro. "We have been working hard over the last several months to produce a GPU accelerated version of Film Stocks and are finally ready to release it," the company says. "In most cases, you should see dramatic speed increases while rendering." Film Stocks offers users simulations of 288 different colour and black-and-white photographic film stocks, motion picture film stocks, and historical photographic processes. The Film Stocks photo plugin is available now for $95. Exposure 5 is now available to purchase. Developed by Alien Skin Software, Exposure 5 enables digital photographers to achieve accurate film simulation, using a wide range of creative effects. “With Exposure 5, a photographer’s vision is the only element separating an ordinary image from an extraordinary one. Independent iOS developer Jeffrey Sun has released version 1.6 of his Modern Photo Editor app. "The key differentiating feature of Modern is that it allows users to save their edited photo at three resolution options: 1 Mpx, 3 Mpx, or 8 Mpx (full)," Jeff says.
