The Mac OS X 10.4.10 update adds RAW image decoding support for 8 cameras, including the Canon EOS 1D Mk III. The full list is Panasonic DMC-LX1, Panasonic DMC-LX2, Leica M8, Leica D-LUX 2, Leica D-LUX 3, Fuji S5 Pro, Nikon D40x, and Canon EOS 1D Mk III. The Idruna Remote Editing System (IRES) allows an editor to see what a photographer is shooting, in real time, even if the photographer is on the other side of the world. IRES works even over mobile phone networks or satellite modems, as only thumbnails are transmitted over the web. Idruna’s Remote Editing System is available now priced at $199 for the Windows version, or from $389 as part of Pocket Phojo 5.0 for Windows Mobile.

Imaging Resource have reviewed the Canon PowerShot SD750 digital camera (also known as the IXUS 75) which has a metallic finish, 3x zoom lens and 3 inch LCD screen.

“The Canon SD750 was fun to shoot with and pretty to look at, but I was less thrilled with the images as I studied them on my monitor. They appeared generally soft, and somewhat off color using Auto white balance with a bit too much contrast and saturation. Of course, some folks like contrasty, saturated images. As it goes, the Canon SD750 isn’t their best, sharpest model, but it’s pretty good for basic snapshots.”

CameraLabs have just reviewed the ultra-wideangle Olympus Zuiko Digital ED7-14mm F4.0 lens, including new samples and results using the latest bodies and a brand new video tour.

DIWA has unveiled the winners of the annual DIWA Platinum Awards for 2006. SYNNEX Corporation will distribute General Imaging’s GE-branded digital still cameras in the USA and Canada. “SYNNEX is a major player in the supply chain, and reaching this agreement with SYNNEX is critical to our visibility in the U.S.,” said Rene Buhay, General Imaging Vice President of Sales, North America. Cameras should be available to resellers by next week.
