The Canon EOS M100 is a new entry-level mirrorless camera which replaces the EOS M10.

In the US, the Canon EOS M100 is scheduled to be available in black or white in October 2017 for an estimated retail price of $599.99 with the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens and $949.99 with the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens and the EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens.

The Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT is a powerful, high-performance specialist flash for professional photography. The MT-26EX-RT features Macro Twin Lights with moveable flash tubes, which can be positioned at five degree intervals around the lens. They can be rotated upwards or downwards, plus pivoted inwards or outwards, depending on the lighting requirements of the shot.

The Canon MT-26EX-RT is available from November 2017 with an SRP of £1,079.99/€1,299.99.

Canon have unveiled four new professional lenses -  the EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM, TS-E 50mm f/2.8L MACRO, TS-E 90mm f/2.8L MACRO and TS-E 135mm f/4L MACRO.

The EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM is available from November 2017 with a SRP of £1,569.99/€1,879.99

The TS-E 50mm f/2.8L MACRO is available from November 2017 with an SRP of £2,499.99/€2,999.99

The TS-E 90mm f/2.8L MACRO is available from November 2017 with an SRP of £2,499.99/€2,999.99

In the US, the Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 L IS USM is scheduled to be available November 2017 for an estimated retail price of $1599.00. The Canon TS-E 50mm f/2.8L Macro lens, TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro lens and TS-E 135mm f/4L Macro lenses are scheduled to be available November 2017 for an estimated retail price of $2199.00. Version 2.6.9 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) has just been released. This update brings various performance, usability and configurability improvements, better Hi-DPI support, a host of new blending modes, a new Handle Transform tool, a faster Warp Transform tool, an enhanced Free Selection tool, a preloaded Raw Therapee plug-in, and much more. Do note that this is officially an "unstable developer version." For the time being, GIMP 2.8.22 remains the latest stable release.

Canon U.S.A. today announced that the Canon CarePAK PLUS accidental damage protection plan will now include Image Recovery for all consumer-level Canon printers with a memory card slot. Already included with CarePAK PLUS for Canon cameras and camcorders, Image Recovery is designed to help retrieve lost or corrupted images or video files that might otherwise be gone forever. Nikon have released seven full-resolution sample images captured with the new Nikon D850 full-frame digital SLR camera. Taken with a variety of Nikon lenses including the AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR, the AF-S Nikkor  105mm f/1.4E ED, the AF-S Nikkor 500mm f/4E FL ED VR and the AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR; these Nikon D850 samples were shot at sensitivity settings ranging from ISO 64 to ISO 400.

The new Nikon D850 is a 45.7 megapixel full-frame DSLR camera that can shoot at 7 frames per second and record 4K UHD video. Other key features include ISO range of 64–25600 (extendable from 32 to 102400), the same 153-point AF system as the flagship D5, 8K timelapse movies, tilting LCD touchscreen, and support for UHS-II SD and XQD cards.

The Nikon D850 will go on sale on 7th September 2017, priced at £3,499.99 / €3,899.00 / $3299.95 body only.

Ricoh today announced a special edition of the Pentax K-1 digital SLR camera. Limited to 2,000 units worldwide, the Pentax K-1 Limited Silver features a high-grade silver-colour coating on the camera body and battery grip to perfectly match the silver FA Limited Lens Series. The model also features a limited edition metal hot shoe cover with logo and comes in an exclusively designed product box. Two exclusive batteries are included and can be used simultaneously in the camera body and the included battery grip. The recommended retail price is £2,149.99.

Think Tank Photo have announced three new shoulder bags. The Spectral 8 fits one standard size DSLR body with a wide or short zoom, a 24–70mm f/2.8 detached, plus one to two small extra lens, and an eight-inch tablet. Or, it fits a Mirrorless kit with three to four lenses, including the 50–140mm. The Spectral 10 fits one standard size DSLR body with 24–70mm attached, a 70–200mm detached, one to three extra lenses, and a 10” tablet. The Spectral 15 fits one standard size DSLR body with 24–70mm attached, a 70–200mm detached, two to four extra lenses, flash, a 10” tablet, and a 15” laptop. The Spectral 8 is available for $99.75, the Spectral 10 sells for $119.75, and the Spectral 15 costs $139.75.

Russia's Krasnogorsk Mechanical Works (KMZ) have announced their intention to revive the legendary Zenit brand by launching a full-frame compact system camera in 2018. These plans were revealed by Igor Sergeyev, the company's Deputy Director General for Civilian Production and Consumer Goods, in an interview on Radio 1. Apparently, the Russian company will manufacture the optical components of the system (and possibly the camera body), whereas the electronic parts will be sourced from abroad. Sergeyev talked about "a close cooperation project with one of the leading photographic equipment companies," without actually naming their business partner. The new camera will be a "modernised" incarnation of the Zenit brand, but will allegedly retain "the characteristic contours, ergonomics [and] camera lines" of the old Zenit SLRs. The device will be released in two colourways; "dark" (presumably black) and "light" (presumably silver). Sergeyev did not reveal the camera's technical specifications - apart from stating that it will be a full-frame mirrorless model - or the exact MSRP, but indicated that it will be "more expensive than a good smartphone."
