CameraTown have just reviewed the new Apple iPod Photo.
“There has been a lot of talk online about the iPod Photo ever since Apple announced it on October 26th, 2004. But, as quickly as you could say “iPod,” there were rants all over the web about the limitations of the new iPod Photo as a photo storage device, as well as its larger size. I immediately ordered one so that I could take a first-hand look at this product, knowing that it will inevitably be a hot item this holiday season. This review will look at the iPod Photo from two functionality standpoints; As a photo storage/player device, and as an all around multimedia device (Music, Photos, and Slideshows). If you are considering getting an MP3 player or a photo/media device sometime soon then I recommend reading further.”

Sanyo are not currently one of the major players in the digital camera market, with only a handful of models to choose from. What the Japanese manufacturer lacks in numbers, though, they more than make up for in terms of style and innovation, with cameras like the hybrid Xacti C1 (review coming soon!) marking them out from the competition. The Sanyo Xacti J4 also fits this description. On paper, it’s just another point-and-shoot 4 megapixel model with a short optical zoom. In reality it’s a very stylish, well-made, pocketable camera with lots of innovative features and great image quality. I’ve already told you that I like this camera, so read on to find out exactly why!

PCMagazine have just reviewed the Lexmark P6520 All-in-One printer/scanner/copier, which is aimed at digital photographers rather than business users.
“Features that make the P6250 easy to use include showing ink-loading instructions on the 2.5-inch color LCD when you open the printer top. Similarly, if you plug in a memory card, the LCD menu reads I Want To… along with such choices as Save to Computer, View Photos, and Print. Bundled software for your PC makes it easy to copy, scan, and even scan and fax, if your PC has a fax modem.”

PCMagazine have reviewed the Canon CanoScan 8400F, a premium film and document scanner featuring a 3200 x 6400 dpi CCD sensor, a 12-frame FAU (Film Adaptor Unit) and advanced FARE Level 3 technology.
“Lots of scanners claim 48-bit color depth, but the 8400F delivers, with an ability to see detail from white to black that’s much greater than with most scanners. The difference is most apparent in slides. For example, in one slide we use with a dark tree line against a bright sky with clouds, the 8400F shows more detail in both the trees and clouds than the Microtek 6100 Pro - even though the 6100 Pro’s scans offer better quality than most flatbed scanners. We also saw slightly more detail in scans of some photos with the Canon unit.”

A-Digital-Eye have also just reviewed the new Canon PIXMA iP5000 printer, which features the industry’s first 1 picoliter droplets.
“Print quality is excellent. The PIXMA iP5000 photo printer with 1 picoliter droplets produces prints that are sharp, and have true rich colors. The balanced contrast makes these prints pop to life. I was surprised to see how well these prints compared to 6 and 7 color printers. At a suggested retail price of $199. Canon’s PIXMA iP5000 photo printer should be on everyone’s Christmas list this winter.”

A-Digital-Eye have posted the first review that I have seen of a new wireless printer from Canon, the PIXMA iP4000R.
“This printer by Canon represents a great printer with many options at a remarkable price. The PIXMA iP4000R photo printer integrates easily into a home or office environment. With many homes now going wireless or thinking about going wireless this would be the printer to get. The previous solutions of sharing a printer required having a dedicated computer turned on (or left on continuously) whenever a printout was required or a wireless print server (around $100) makes the PIXMA iP4000R an easy choice to get. What makes this printer even better is the dual paper paths. Now you can have the printer ready to print with two different types of papers!”

Imaging Resource have reviewed the new 3 megapixel, 12x optical zoom Panasonic DMC-FZ3 digital camera.
“On the whole, I was favorably impressed with the Panasonic DMC-FZ3, although personally think that the somewhat more capable 4-megapixel FZ15 is a better value, despite its $100 higher list price. The FZ3’s all-plastic case keeps the camera light, but also leaves it with a slightly cheap feel in the hand. As with the FZ15, the FZ3’s biggest limitation is a very slow shutter response, although its shutter lag when “prefocused” by pressing and holding down the shutter button prior to the shot itself is amazingly fast, and the camera is also quite fast from shot to shot in its continuous-shooting modes.”

The Wall Street Journal have just reviewed the new Apple iPod Photo.
“I tested the iPod Photo on a Mac PowerBook G4 laptop. It was a breeze to use. I just installed the software that came with it, launched iTunes, and chose how I wanted to synchronize with my photos, which were already in iPhoto. In seconds I had moved over several iPhoto albums, including one filled with pictures I took at the World Series in Fenway Park in Boston, when my beloved Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals.”
