Being displayed as an early prototype under glass at the Photography Show in the UK, the new lighting system includes the FA-WRC1M wireless radio commander as well as the FA-WRR1 wireless radio receiver.The new Wireless Lighting Control system will be available in Europe in summer 2016.

The Irix 15mm f/2.4 is available in the standard Firefly version (around £400) and the weather-proof Blackstone version (around £650). The Blackstone edition of the Irix 15mm f/2.4 lens also has flouresecent markings for easier operation at night.

Irix were also showcasing a new 11mm f/4 lens, due for release in Summer 2016.

4V Design has introduced a range of hand-crafted Italian leather camera straps. The range includes six collections to fit most cameras from compacts to high end DSLRs. The ALA & ALA TOP neck straps have a unique pre-curved shape, which looks similar to a paraglider’s wing. LUSSO neck straps – suitable for medium-sized SLR cameras and CSCs – come in slim, medium and large versions. The CLASSIC collection combines the very best Tuscan ‘Cuoio’ leather with sleek Italian design providing a beautiful and elegant camera strap. The padding features a thick comfortable rounded shape, combined with a soft suede and non-slip ultra-grip. Finally, the Ergo and Watch collections include wrist straps for CSCs, compact cameras and smartphones. 4V products are available at The Photography Show at the Speed Graphic stand (G82).

The Irix 15mm f/2.4 is a new rectilinear, manual-focus UWA lens for full-frame digital SLR cameras. Offering a diagonal angle of view of 110°, the Irix 15mm f/2.4 has an array of features including focus lock, infinity click and separate distance, depth-of-field and hyperfocal scales as well as both a 95mm front filter mount and a rear gelatin filter slot. The optical formula comprises 15 elements in 11 groups, including 3 high-refractive-index elements, 2 extra-low-dispersion glass elements and 2 aspherical lenses. According to the manufacturer, this complex optical construction - coupled with a special "neutrino" coating - reduces colour aberration, ghosting and flare "to the absolute minimum." The Irix 15mm f/2.4 lens comes in two versions, Irix Blackstone (pictured) with engraved fluorescent markings, and Irix Firefly, which is billed as "the most lightweight lens in its class." Availablity is slated for Spring 2016.

Olympus has announced the European availability of the new Olympus TG-870 rugged camera. First unveiled in January, the Olympus Tough TG-870 is a premium all-weather compact with a 21-105mm equivalent lens,180-degree tilting 920,000-dot LCD screen, customisable front button, built-in Wi-Fi, next-generation GPS and 13 Art Filters. The camera is waterproof to depths of 50 feet (15 m), freezeproof to 14℉ (-10℃), shockproof from 7 feet (2.1 m), crushproof to 220 pounds (100 kg) of force and dustproof. The customisable button on the front of the camera can be programmed for several functions, including shutter release, video recording, monitor boost, LED assist and Super Macro Mode. The Olympus Tough TG-870 will come to Europe in April, carrying a recommended retail price of £249.99/€299.00. A free 6-month warranty extension is available if you sign up online for MyOlympus membership.

Designed for photographers already using the Sun-Mover Silver, Zebra or Translucent 2/3 by Sunbounce, the Tight-Fit Screen fits like a second skin over the Sun-Mover Reflector Pro and offers multiple screen options without having to invest in the purchase of a second or third unit. The Sun-Mover Tight-Fit Screens are available for sale now, priced at $49.

Blackmagic Design has announced that te Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K and the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera have commenced shipping and that the specifications of the two cameras have been changed. Due to problems with the cameras' global shutters, the company has decided to ship both of the cameras without the global shutter feature. The URSA Mini 4.6K is the high-dynamic-range model for high-end digital film work, featuring a DR of 15 stops and is now available for $4,995 for the EF-mount version and $5,495 for the PL edition. The Micro Cinema Camera has a built-in expansion port that provides access to many of the camera’s unique functions via radio model aircraft remote controls and other common remote control solutions.

Sony will showcase their new wireless lighting control system prototype at The Photography Show (TPS) 2016. Designed for compatibility with the manufacturer's interchangeable-lens cameras and external flash units, the new lighting system includes the FA-WRC1M wireless radio commander as well as the FA-WRR1 wireless radio receiver. With a maximum range of 30m, the new radio controlled system can control a maximum of 15 separate flash units in up to 5 groups.  Additionally, the new lighting control system will be capable of flash sync speeds of up to 1/250th of a second with high speed sync (HSS) available as well. The new Wireless Lighting Control system will be available in Europe in summer 2016. Pricing and detailed specifications will be released at a later date.

Sigma UK has announced the immediate availability of two new Global Vision Lens kits. First announced by Sigma USA, the 150-600 f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports + Tele Converter TC-1401 bundle (£1649.99) and the 150-600 f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Contemporary + Tele Converter TC-1401 kit (£1,349.99) expand the focal range from 150-600mm to 210-840mm, offering Canon, Nikon and Sigma camera users a more powerful telephoto reach. Each kit represents a saving of over £100 compared to buying the lens and tele converter separately.

BenQ has launched a new 32” UHD video-editing monitor that features 100% Rec.709 and sRGB coverage, hardware calibration via an adjustable 14-bit internal LUT, and a high degree of brightness uniformity across the screen. The BenQ PV3200PT 32” 4K UHD has a built-in SD card reader and several USB 3.0 ports, and comes with a 5-year warranty. According to BenQ, the monitor achieves an average Delta E value of 2 and below in the sRGB colour space. The PV3200PT monitor is priced at £1,099 including VAT (RRP) and is available to purchase through Color Confidence and leading video retailers.

Leica has revealed pricing and availability for the Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90–280mm f/2.8-4 lens. First announced alongside the Leica SL (Typ 601) camera, the Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90–280mm f/2.8-4 is a telephoto zoom lens with a focal length range which complements that of the already available Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–90 mm f/2.8–4 ASPH. standard zoom. Its integrated optical image stabilisation offers a 3.5-stop advantage over non-stabilised lenses, while the new dual internal focusing system ensures very fast and quiet auto focus operation. The Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90–280 mm f/2.8-4 is sealed against dust and moisture, and features a detachable tripod plate for easier handling. On sale from 24 March 2016, the new telezoom is priced at £4650 including VAT.

Serif has announced it will be bringing its highly regarded - but so far Mac-only - Affinity Photo (read review) and Affinity Designer applications to Windows. "Pretty much any article, blog or social post about our Affinity apps now seems to attract a rush of comments from users asking why we don't make them available on Windows. Well, I'm really excited to finally reveal we are working on it and the development team are making incredibly rapid progress." said Ashley Hewson, Serif's Managing Director. "We already have an early build of Affinity Designer running on our PCs in the office here, and we will be making it available as a free public beta early in the summer".

Adobe has released Lightroom CC 2015.5 / Lightroom 6.5 plus Adobe Camera Raw 9.5. The updates add support for the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS 80D and EOS 1300D, the Nikon D500 and D5, the Olympus PEN-F and SH-3, the Panasonic DMC-CM10, GF8 and TZ100, the Samsung NX3300, the Sony Alpha A6300 and the Yuneec CGO4, and fix a number of bugs.

Corel has just announced CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8. The new flagship graphics suite offers full optimisation for Windows 10, support for multi-monitor viewing, 4K and higher displays, as well as Windows Real-Time Stylus pen-compatible tablets. "With the new X8, we've taken away many of the pain points graphics pros face daily by offering a powerful design environment that's faster and smarter than ever," said Gérard Métrailler, Vice President of Products, Graphics and Productivity, Corel. "From big additions, like the all-new Corel Font Manager, to the dramatically evolved Knife tool, the entire suite makes it easier for users to get the professional look and output their clients demand." The new CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 includes CorelDRAW X8, Corel PHOTO-PAINT X8, PhotoZoom Pro 4, Corel PowerTRACE X8, Corel Font Manager, Corel CAPTURE X8, Corel Website Creator and Corel CONNECT X8. The full version is priced at £529 and the upgrade is £259. Subscription is available for £26.95 per month or £179.40 per year.
