A well built (with the exception of the plastic buttons at the rear), competitively priced high-resolution model, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX150 pulls off the trick of being at once a snapshot camera suitable for all the family to use, and one that also won't have the enthusiast frowning with derision after five minutes. We'd even go so far as to suggest this has to be one of the best options for the more discerning photographer who doesn't want to kart around a DSLR or a more compact bridge camera on nights out or the occasional day trip. Boasting resolution a-plenty, few compromises need to be made in order to achieve great looking images with the Panasonic FX150. OK, its ISO performance may be nothing to write home about, white balance can be variable and in low light it's literally looking shaky too. But for a retailer's asking price of �299 � with web deals available for a good �100 cheaper at the time of writing � it adds up to very fair value. If you don't want, or indeed need 100% perfection, but do require reliable performance under the typical conditions for image taking � blue skies, holidays � then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX150 should be high on your wish list.
