Sharpness at 85mm

For this test, the Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN Art lens was attached to a Sony A7 III body, which was in turn mounted to a sturdy tripod. Exposure delay mode was activated. Tonal and colour variance across the crops are due to change in natural light during the session.

Centre sharpness is slightly soft wide-open at f/1.4, but outstanding from f/2 all the way through to f/11, with f/16 being adversely affected by diffraction.

The edges are commendably as sharp as the centre, with f/2 to f/11 again producing the sharpest results.
