Conclusion

The E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS is simply a must-buy lens for all Sony Alpha shooters who are even remotely interested in super-telephoto subjects.

It offers an incredibly versatile 5x focal range in a super-compact, lightweight, yet well-built design with great image quality, fast and reliable AF, effective stabilisation, weather-resistance and even an affordable price-tag.

Sure, it might only feature a 7-blade aperture, and the maximum apertures of F4.5-6.3 sound restrictive, but in practice it's easy to throw the background out of focus and achieve some lovely bokeh effects.

This lens is amazingly compact and light, despite the massive focal range that's on offer, somehow pulling off the clever trick of not being too unwieldy even when paired with a relatively small camera body like the A6600 that we tested it with.

The fast-focusing, whisper-quiet Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS is a cracking lens for those moments that require a more candid approach and equally well-suited to both stills photography and video use.

Priced at £830 / $1000 in the UK and USA respectively, the E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS is one of the few Sony lenses that almost seems like a veritable bargain, even at its full RRP.

Overall, the Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS lens is an amazingly versatile super-telephoto zoom lens that we feel is something of a no-brainer for sports, action and wildlife photographers who use the Sony E-mount APS-C series.
