Canon EOS 80D and EOS M3 Video Creator Kits

Canon will showcase its new Canon EOS 80D and EOS M3 Video Creator Kits during VidCon 2016 at the Anaheim Convention Center, 23-25 June 2016. The EOS 80D Video Creator Kit ($2,049.00, available from August 2016) includes an EOS 80D DSLR camera and EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, an external microphone and 32GB SD card. This kit also includes the Canon Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E1 which allows creators to smoothly control their zoom at the push of a button or right from their compatible smartphone by using the Canon Camera Connect app. The EOS M3 Video Creator Kit ($899.99, available later this month) includes an EOS M3 compact system camera and EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, an external microphone and a 32GB SD card. The new bundles join a family of Video Creator Kits that include the EOS Rebel T6i, Rebel T5i and EOS 70D.

Pulse Camera Remote

Alpine Labs have announced the upcoming launch of their "Pulse" camera release. Offering a pocket-sized solution to wireless control of DSLRs and CSCs, Pulse facilitates remote control from your mobile device using Bluetooth connectivity and a free mobile app. Unlike other remotes that utilise a camera’s trigger port, the USB connection allows Pulse to wirelessly control ISO, shutter speed, aperture, start / stop video, preview images on the screen of your device, and boasts an operational range of up to 100 ft. Canon EOS Rebel SL1 White Kit

The white-grey edition of the Canon EOS SL1 camera (originally launched in Japan as the EOS Kiss X7 White) will be available in the USA from the end of June. The white EOS Rebel SL1 camera is complemented by a matching white EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. "[N]ew to the U.S. market, the white EOS Rebel SL1 Digital SLR camera with its companion white lens, provides users with high-quality images in a small, compact body that is easy to bring along on all their summer adventures," says Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon U.S.A. The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens kit in white will retail for an estimated retail price of $749.99.

Canon EOS 700D Firmware Version 1.1.3

Canon has posted a firmware update for its EOS 700D / EOS Rebel T5i digital SLR camera. Version 1.1.3 fixes a phenomenon in which the camera displays Err01 or Err60, or in rare instances will lock-up when in Live View shooting mode (or Movie shooting mode) when attached to the following STM zoom lenses: EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM. Additionally, it corrects some Korean-language misspellings displayed on the menu screen. You can download the firmware upgrade from the website below.

DxO Optics Pro 8.1.6

DxO Labs have released version 8.1.6 of DxO Optics Pro. This update adds support for the Leica M (in the Elite edition only), the Canon EOS 700D / Rebel T5i (pictured), the Nikon Coolpix A, the Nikon Coolpix P330, the Pentax MX-1, and the Sony NEX-3N. This upgrade is free for all owners of DxO Optics Pro 8, as well as for photographers who purchased a DxO Optics Pro 7 license on or after 1 September 2012.

Canon EOS 700D Photos

We had the opportunity to try out the new Canon EOS 700D DSLR camera in central London. Here are 38 sample JPEG photos taken with the Canon EOS 700D DSLR camera, including the full ISO range. The Canon EOS 700D is a digital SLR camera with an APS-C sized 18-megapixel Hybrid CMOS sensor, DIGIC 5 processor and a 5fps continuous shooting mode.

Canon has released eight full-resolution sample photos and twor sample videos shot with the brand new Canon EOS 700D, also known as the EOS Rebel T5i. Taken at a variety of sensitivity settings ranging from ISO 100/21° to ISO 1600/33°, these EOS 100D samples were shot using an array of lenses including the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, EF 40mm f/2.8 STM, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM, EF 17-40mm f/4L USM and the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM.  While the sample photos are available at the original 18-megapixel resolution, the sample movies have been downsampled to 960x540 pixels. Each sample video is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes movie showing how it was shot.

Canon EOS 700D / Rebel T5i

The Canon EOS 700D (marketed as the Canon EOS Rebel T5i in North America) is a new digital SLR camera with an APS-C sized 18-megapixel Hybrid CMOS sensor, DIGIC 5 processor and a 5fps continuous shooting mode. The EOS 700D’s advanced AF module consists of 9 cross-type sensors spread across the frame, and a new, simplified 360° rotating mode dial to provide easy and swift access to the camera’s various shooting modes. A 3” vari-angle Clear View LCD II touchscreen makes it easy for users to frame, shoot and review from a variety of angles. When shooting in Live View mode, the Hybrid CMOS AF system enables speedy and accurate autofocus for photos and video, the company claims. The Canon EOS 700D is available from late April, with an SRP of £629.99 / €799.99 / $749.99.
