Kodak have introduced the world’s first wireless photo frame featuring Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology. OLED technology generates greater colour depth and saturation than other displays, viewed on panels that are substantially thinner, resulting in a sleek, low-profile design. The new 7.6-inch Kodak OLED Wireless Frame also features built-in Wi-Fi, Perfect Touch technology and a 180° viewing angle. The Kodak OLED Wireless Frame will retail for £599.99 / $999.99.

The LaCie 4big Quadra supports seven RAID modes and offers capacities of up to 6TB. The 4big offers burst transfer rates reaching up to 200-230MB/s through eSATA 3Gbits. “The LaCie 4big Quadra definitely sets a new standard in RAID Technology for creative professionals and small sever backups,” said Arnaud Prézelin, LaCie Product manager for Creative Pro solutions. “For instance, the 4big Quadra enables digital content creators to work on multiple HD video streams or to manage RAW photos libraries with live effects.” The LaCie 4big Quadra will be available in 2TB, 4TB or 6TB in October starting at £659.00 for the 2TB.

Lexar have released 16GB versions of its Platinum II 60x SDHC and 80x CompactFlash memory cards. The Platinum II SDHC memory card is speed-rated at 60x, capable of a minimum sustained write speed of 9MB per second, while the Platinum II CF memory card is speed-rated at 80x, which represents a minimum sustained write speed of 12MB per second. Available later this month, the new Lexar Platinum II SDHC and CF cards include a limited lifetime warranty and image-related software - the full version of Lexar Image Rescue 3 and a six-month trial of Corel Painter Essentials 4.

The catchily named Leica M8.2 is an upgraded version of the company’s M-series digital rangefinder camera. New additions to the Leica M8.2 include a extra-quiet, low vibration metal blade focal plane shutter, an ultra scratch-resistant sapphire crystal cover glass for the LCD screen, snapshot mode, “vulcanite” finish to the camera body, viewfinder bright-lines and a more compact, faster charger. The Leica M8.2 is available now for £3990 in the UK.

X-Rite has been chosen as the calibration partner for the new HP DreamColor LCD screen. “X-Rite is once again pleased to work with HP in a shared vision of making accurate, predictable, and easy color reproduction. Seagate has introduced the Fall 2008 lineup of its FreeAgent external hard drives. Seagate’s flagship offering, the FreeAgent Go portable storage solution, is the slimmest external drive available today. The new FreeAgent Go is the first external hard drive to offer a docking option. The FreeAgent Desk drive and FreeAgent XTreme drive are the family’s two 3.5-inch high-capacity desktop offerings. The FreeAgent Go for Mac and FreeAgent Desk for Mac are both formatted for use with Mac OS X out of the box and are Time Machine ready with FireWire800/400 or USB 2.0 connectivity.

WD’s range of My Passport external hard drives is now available in 500Gb capacities. Both the My Passport Elite and My Passport Essential portable drive models benefit from the upgrade. Weighing in at less than 7 ounces and designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use, the new 500 GB My Passport portable drives are small enough to fit in a pocket or backpack for easy portability. The 500GB My Passport Elite costs $219.99, and the 500GB My Passport Essential costs $199.99.

SanDisk have released a 32GB version of their Extreme III CompactFlash memory card. The new card’s 30MB/s (200x) read and write speeds enable users to record and transfer content quickly and reliably. All SanDisk Extreme III CF cards from 4GB to 32GB, as well as the new SanDisk Extreme III SDHC and SanDisk Extreme III Memory Stick PRO HG DUO, recently received a 50 percent speed increase from 20MB/s to 30MB/s. The 32GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card has a retail price of $299.99 in the United States. Worldwide availability is targeted for October.

The new Sony Vaio AW-Series is an 18.4-inch laptop aimed at photographers. Full coverage of the Adobe RGB colour space offers total accuracy for editing, thanks to the 3LED backlighting system also found on Sony’s Bravia TVs. The AW-Series comes with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom as well as Adobe Photoshop Elements pre-installed. Leaf have today announced no less than 6 new digital medium format cameras. The new Leaf AFi-II 10, 7 and 6 are available either as a full camera system, or as the Leaf Aptus-II digital camera backs. The 6x6 format Leaf AFi-II 10 camera uses an exclusive new 56x36 millimeter, 56 megapixel True Wide Frame sensor (also available in the Leaf Aptus-II 10 camera back). The Leaf AFi-II 7 and 10 are the first medium format cameras to sport a 90° tilting touch screen LCD display. All of the new Leaf AFi-II camera systems and Leaf Aptus-II camera backs boast a 12 f-stop dynamic range, 50-800 ISO range and 16-bit color images. The LaCie 730, 724 and 720 monitors are aimed at creative professionals needing superior colour accuracy. Available as the 20-inch LaCie 720, 24-inch LaCie 724, and the 30-inch LaCie 730, the new LaCie 700 series offers ultra-wide gamuts of up to 123 percent of Adobe RGB colourspace. They are able to produce purer red, green and blue primaries that result in a larger range of vibrant colours previously not obtainable with more common LCD displays. The new Sony VAIO CP1 digital photo frame features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity that lets you stream photos from a PC. The CP1’s 7-inch LCD screen has 16 million colors and 800x480 resolution and it offers 128MB internal storage. It can can display images from compatible Memory Stick media, SD cards, CompactFlash cards and digital still cameras. The Sony CP1 digital photo frames will retail for about $300, starting in mid-October.

The Kodak P820 and P520 are two new digital picture frames featuring a touch sensitive border. The Quick Touch Border enables fun and interactive picture scrolling without the need for a remote control. Touch-sensitive controls allow for simple operation with a touch or slide of your finger, leaving the screen fingerprint-and smudge-free. Two colour-coordinated interchangeable mattes, in Cranberry Red and Silver, are included with the P820 and P520 frames to match a variety of home décor styles. The Kodak P820 and P520 will be available from October for £89.99 and £59.99 respectively.

Samsung has added four new models to its range of digital photo frames. Available September 1st, the SPF-85H and the WiFi-enabled SPF-85V have an 8-inch screen and are offered with an estimated street price of $129.99 and $199.99, respectively. For those wanting a larger screen, two 10-inch digital photo frames will be available. The SPF-105P will be offered for an estimated street price of $199.99 on October 1st and the WiFi-enabled SPF-105V for an estimated street price of $289.99 on November 1st.
