We Want More: Image Making and Music in the 21st Century is an upcoming exhibition hosted by The Photographers' Gallery in London. Exploring the expanded role that photography and image-production plays in defining music culture today, this exhibtion is presented across two floors, dedicated in turn to musicians and their fan bases. It includes works commissioned commercially as well as personal projects initiated by the photographers themselves and a selection of creative collaborations whose aim is to unpick the genre of Music Photography. The exhibition also presents a selection of music videos created by photographers, rather than moving image directors, demonstrating the increasing dialogue and interface between these mediums. 'Capa in Color,' a unique exhibition of Robert Capa's most remarkable colour photographs that debuted last year at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, is now on view at Budapest's Capa Center. From as early as 1938 right until his death in 1954, Capa shot literally thousands of frames on colour film, principally Kodachrome, in various formats ranging from 35mm to 4x5". Capa in Color spans a variety of genres including war photography, portraiture, classic photojournalism and fashion photography. In conjunction with the exhibition, the Capa Center will also present a collection of images by Capa’s best friend and editor, John G. Morris, who also documented the Normandy landings. The exhibition hall is located at 8 Nagymező utca, Budapest, Hungary.

To mark the beginning of a three-year partnership with Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios (NNOS), Wex Photographic is holding its inaugural Photography Symposium which will take place on 7th June at The Forum. NNOS, which takes place between 23rd May and 7th June, celebrates the county’s artists and their achievements by offering them the opportunity to open their doors to the public to exhibit, sell and talk about their work. This year the festival will see over 450 artists exhibiting across 248 venues throughout Norfolk. The Wex Photographic Photography Symposium promises to be a day of enlightening talks from regional photographers and videographers. Featuring a mixture of established and up-and-coming talent, there will be a range of topics covered which include, ‘Capturing the Action’, ‘From Acrobat to Photographer’, ‘Small Town Inertia – Community, Context, Conduit’, ‘The Personal Landscape’, ‘Exhibition Cartographie Luminaire’, and ‘The Constant Photographer’. As part of their partnership with the National Trust, Panasonic UK will be holding events around a variety of National Trust properties between now and 27th September. The events, based around the United Kingdom, will allow attendees to borrow a choice of Lumix camera, including some of the latest 4K models, such as the LX100 and FZ1000 bridge camera, and with help from some of Panasonic’s official Lumix Ambassadors, will each get tips and advice on how to perfectly capture the surroundings of National Trust properties. The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and The Open University are launching a unique online digital photography course. Digital Photography: Creating and Sharing Better Images is a 10-week course designed to help people new to digital photography and those looking to improve existing skills – and to see the world in a new way. It will develop participants’ technical and visual skills through weekly practical assignments. The 10-week course will cost £200, and all students who successfully complete the course will be entitled to an RPS Certificate in Photography.

Magnum Photos have announced a workshop with Antoine D’Agata in Hamburg. From June 16th to 20th, Antoine D’Agata will lead an intimate group through a daily programme of shooting, reviews, group critiques, mentoring and editing sessions. Intended for photographers or photography students with a good understanding of photographic practice, the five-day workshop will give attendees an opportunity to build a photographic story in Hamburg or the surrounding area. Candidates will spend the five days alongside their selected photographer developing visual language, photographic identity, practical, technical and conceptual skills and the expertise required to compete in a changing marketplace. Each workshop is limited to 12 participants. The tuition for the Magnum Workshop is 950€. This does not include photo developing, post-production, travel, accommodations or meals. The deadline for applications is 10th May.

With sales of consumer orientated camera drones on the up, and the technology getting ever more affordable, Chinese manufacturer DJI has announced what it is terming the possible “future of aerial imaging and video”. It has launched not one but two updates to its Phantom series. These are the Phantom 3 ‘Professional’ – a 4K shooting unmanned aerial vehicle with gold detailing and a suggested retail price of £1,159 – plus a second model in the Phantom 3 Advanced. The latter records 1080P video, costs a more affordable £899 SRP, and is outwardly distinguishable via its silver detailing. A unique exhibition of photographs taken by ordinary Londoners opens 17th April in East London, providing a colourful and personal insight into the lives of 15 families. All 80 photographs on display are from the PhotoSpeak Project. The project started in 2013 when Community Education Specialist Trina Geasley, photographer Jacqueline Mccullough and artist Liz Clough embarked on a 10-week project aiming to combat issues affecting local women by applying a community education method to the running of a photography project. "Me, You, Us is an honest celebration of the people of East London," the organisers say. "The exhibition is a result of groups working collectively to produce photographs. Each portrait has been constructed personally and differently and all are displayed as taken, without Photoshop or any alterations in post-production." Me, You, Us takes place from April 17th - 24th 2015 at The Arts Pavilion, Clinton Road, London, E3 4QY. Admission is free.

Arranged chronologically, the exhibition explores British society through changing national characteristics, attitudes and activities over the last five decades. Work, Rest and Play: British Photography from the 1960s to Today will be the inaugural exhibition in the new C2 Space, Shenzhen OCT-LOFT, China.
