SLR Magic has unveiled a brand new cine lens. The APO HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 is an apochromatic lens featuring a completely new optical and mechanical design, which meets the demands of high-resolution cameras including those with 4K and 6K sensors. The lens comes standard in PL mount and can be easily adapted to numerous camera systems. Optional mount adapters will include a PL-mFT adapter, a PL-E adapter, and an EF mount conversion adapter. Featuring a standard focus rotation angle of 300 degrees, the SLR Magic APO-HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 will be on display at Photokina, Cologne 16th to 21st September 2014. The SLR Magic stand is located in Hall 5.1, Booth L-011. SLR Magic will start shipping the APO-HyperPrime CINE 50mm T2.1 in early 2015. Pricing to be confirmed at a later date.

The Sony FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS is the world’s first interchangeable 35mm full frame digital lens with power zoom capability. Ideally suited to cameras such as the Sony A7 and A7S, the new FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS has three separate rings offering independent control over focus, zoom and aperture, with optimal torque for a satisfyingly responsive, professional feel. Powered by the SSM drive, the zoom is exceptionally smooth and silent. Zooming speed can be precisely controlled over a wide range, with the ability to switch zoom rotation direction as desired to suit personal preference (available on selected cameras only). The minimum focus distance is 40cm at the 28mm end and 95cm at full telephoto. When attached to an E-mount camera with an APS-C sized sensor, the Sony FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS offers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 42-202.5mm. The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G ED is a new wide-angle FX-format prime lens. The bright aperture delivers shallow depth of field, plus smooth bokeh, and ensures this lens excels in low-light settings. The Nikon SB-500 is the company's first Speedlight with a built-in LED light. The flash head and LED light both cover a wide 24 mm angle of view in FX-format, and easy-to-understand controls on the rear of the unit ensure simple operation. The SB-500 also enables wireless control of multiple flash units. The Nikon SB-500 retails for £199.99 / €249.00 / $249.95 and will be available from 25th September.

The Nikon Coolpix S6900 is billed as the ultimate compact selfie camera. The 16 megapixel Nikon S6900 features a vari-angle LCD screen, two shutter-release buttons, and a built-in camera stand, while Gesture Control makes it even easier to shoot photos and Full HD movies at the wave of a hand. There''s also built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, high-speed continuous shooting at up to 8fps and a special Glamour mode. The Nikon Coolpix S6900 costs £199.99 and will be available in black or white from September 23rd.

Sigma has unveiled two new teleconverters and four new filter lines. The  dust and splash-proof teleconverters TC-1401 and TC2001 have been developed as dedicated attachments for Sigma Global Vision lenses. By mounting it in between a telephoto lens and a camera, the TC-1401 and TC-2001 will magnify a lens’ focal length by 1.4 and 2 times, respectively. The TC-1401 (pictured) will be sold for the street price of $349, and the TC2001 will be available for $399. Also, Sigma will now offer 13 filter size options in four new lineups, including the WR Protector (Water-repellent, antistatic type) and Protector (normal type) as well as the WR UV Filter and the WR Circular PL Filter. The filters will be launched in October, with availability yet to be announced for the teleconverters.

Hasselblad has announced the upcoming launch of a new medium format camera body. The Hasselblad H5X, which boasts latest capture functionality comes after the spring launch of the world's first 50MP CMOS Sensor H5D-50c camera and the summer launch of the new H5D-50c MS, H5D-200c MS and the CFV-50c CMOS digital back. The H5X, which will retail at €4,595 without viewfinder (or €5,795 with viewfinder), provides the same extensive functionality as the H1 and H2 cameras but with a number of new functions including full HC and HCD lens compatibility, eight memory banks, True Focus mechanism, high-power AF illumination, superior viewfinder options including the HVD 90x viewfinder optimised for 36x48 mm format and HV 90x-II viewfinder optimised for the film and 40.2×53.7 mm format. the camera works with film and digital backs. Hasselblad will showcase the new H5X at photokina 2014.

Fuji has posted six full-resoluion sample photographs taken with the new Fujifilm X100T large-sensor premium compact camera. Shot at sensitivity settings ranging from ISO200/24° to ISO3200/36°, these Fuji X100T samples can be downloaded from the website below.

The Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS is a new full-frame fish-eye lens, which will be officially introduced at Photokina in Cologne on 16 September 2014. Offering a 180-degree angle of view, the Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS has a complex optical construction comprising 12 elements in 8 groups, including three elements made of low dispersion ED glass and two aspherical lens elements. Availability and pricing have yet to be confirmed.

Eizo has introduced the ColorEdge CS240, a 24.1-inch monitor for photographers and graphic design professionals. The ColorEdge CS240 features a wide-gamut IPS panel with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and 99% Adobe RGB coverage. With this extended gamut, images shot in raw can be converted to Adobe RGB and images shot in Adobe RGB will be displayed in vibrant and lush colours, the company says. The Eizo ColorEdge CS240 comes equipped with DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI input terminals. With the DisplayPort input, the monitor offers 10-bit display (more than one billion colours simultaneously) from a 16-bit look-up table, which also makes hardware calibration possible. For users that require a wide variety of calibration functionality, Eizo bundles its proprietary ColorNavigator 6 software. Preset target values for photography, printing, and web design are included for users looking for a simple way to calibrate the monitor. Experienced users can set their own target values for brightness, gamma, and white point, and generate an ICC profile. ColorNavigator 6 offers several advanced functions such as measuring the white of the paper to be used for printing for better screen-to-print matching and profile validation for verifying calibration results. An ergonomic stand with 35° tilt, 344° swivel, portrait mode, and 130 mm height adjustment lets users place the screen in the optimal position. The Eizo ColorEdge CS240 is now shipping to retailers, and will be on display at Photokina in Cologne, Germany, in hall 4.1 stand I025 J030. Pricing to be confirmed.

The Leaf Credo 50 is a fifty-megapixel medium-format back featuring a CMOS sensor. Giving photographers a wider ISO range of 100 to 6400 for greater versatility and higher performance, the Leaf Credo 50 offers very long exposures - up to an hour -, fluid high-quality live view for exact composition as well as more accurate and selective focusing, a claimed 14 f-stops of dynamic range, an enhanced image processor and a hi-res 3.2" touchscreen Available from 16 September 2014 in Mamiya, Contax, H and V mounts, the Mamiya Leaf Credo 50 Digital back is priced at $26,995 / €19,995.

The Zeiss Otus 1.4/85 is a new short telephoto lens for Canon EF and Nikon F-mount cameras. Featuring 11 elements in 9 groups, this 85mm f/1.4 lens is claimed to deliver "unprecedented" image quality, even wide open. "Specifically, that means a neutral bokeh in the background, highly detailed images without any optical artifacts, consistently high resolution power across the entire image field, no colour fringing or distortion, and an extremely high image contrast all the way into the edges," the company says. The Zeiss Otus 1.4/85 will be available worldwide with EF-mount (ZE) and F-mount (ZF.2) from mid-September 2014. The recommended retail price is €3,360.50 / $4,490.00.

At photokina 2014, Cosyspeed will present two new versions of its Camslinger 160 bag, which will be available from November for €99.99 / $119.00 each. Designed for mirrorless system cameras, the Camslinger bag adapts flexibly to the size of each individual camera setup. The new versions include the Camslinger 160 Paris Gray (pictured) and the all-black Camslinger 160 Street Editon, both of which will be on display at the Cosyspeed booth at  photokina (hall 4.1, stand C026).

The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE is an ultra wide angle lens aimed at videographers using Micro FourThirds cameras. Offering a 20mm equivalent focal length in 35mm terms, the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens has a maximum aperture of T2.1, ideal for low-light photography and cinematography. Other notable features include a silent “clickless” aperture ring, an 11-bladed iris diaphragm and an optical formula comprising 13 elements arranged in 11 groups. The SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 HyperPrime CINE lens will be available from resellers at the end of October 2014 with a MSRP of £699 / €869.

The Epson SureColor SC-P600 is Epson’s new top-of-the-range A3+ photo printer. Combining professional quality, high productivity and superior wireless connectivity in a relatively compact and affordable package, the Epson SureColor SC-P600 features the manufacturer's new nine-colour UltraChrome HD inkset for excellent quality prints. Designed for medium-volume production, the SureColor SC-P600 outputs an 11 x 14 inch print in 153 seconds. Twin paper paths enable A3+ printing on a wide variety of photo and fine art papers, canvas and thick media, while the machine’s roll-paper capability is perfect for high-impact panoramic images.  The 2.7 inch, colour touch panel interface makes it simple to set up and manage, even without a PC, while the unit's Wi-Fi Direct, Epson Connect and Google Cloud Print support provide for excellent wireless connectivity. The SureColor SC-P600 printer will be shown for the first time in Europe at Photokina (Stand B11, Hall 2.2).

Canon has announced details of its presence at Photokina 2014. The company's programme at the show will offer visitors a digital imaging experience that highlights its line-up of products and services. Within an open, free-roam environment, visitors will be invited to undertake shooting challenges, with experts on-hand to guide them along the way. The stand will also feature live presentation sessions with Canon’s world famous photography ambassadors. Presenters will include landscape and travel photographer David Noton, photojournalist and documentary filmmaker Ulla Lohmann, and action shooter Richard Walch. Furthermore, Canon Explorer Jörg Kyas will be taking on interactive challenges set by visitors – providing a unique way for enthusiasts to learn about new styles or techniques. To allow attendees the opportunity to retain their experience, Canon Live Pass RFID cards will be supplied to allow visitors to scan in at key points around the stand in order to create a souvenir site which is tailored to their interest areas, and to which they can refer after the show. Canon’s stand will be located in Hall 3.2.

Zeiss are set to launch a new family of lenses at Photokina, dubbed Loxia. Rumoured to be for Sony FE full-frame mirrorless cameras (A7S, A7R, A7), the new range will be joined at the show by another Otus full-frame DSLR lens as well as new rangefinder products. Zeiss are currently running a special interactive puzzle on their blog which will eventually reveal the new Photokina 2014 products.
