Triggertrap have released their  newest app, Triggertrap Selfie. Putting a twist on the ubiquitous self-portrait, Triggertrap Selfie uses the subject's voice to trigger the iPhone's camera. "Shout, clap, honk like a goose - from the creative to the amusing, Triggertrap Selfie opens up a whole new world of snapping self-portraits," the company says. As soon as the shout hits the required number of decibels, the pixelated screen will clear and the camera snaps a selfie. Your screaming work of art is saved to your camera roll, and you can share it straight to Twitter from inside the Triggertrap Selfie app.

Google have introduced Google Photos — a new service that promises to give you "a home for all your photos and videos." The free service incorporates a standalone app for both Android and iOS, a web-based interface, unlimited photo-video hosting, automated syncing and backups. The original resolution is maintained for up to 16 megapixels for photos and 1080p for movies, and your works are automatically organised by people, places and other parameters. The new Google Photos Assistant creates animations, collages and videos from your still images. Pictures, movies and entire photo sets can be shared easily via social networks.

Sliders is a new mobile app that converts any iOS device into a digital photo frame. Besides turning your own Flickr photostream into an easy-to-use slideshow, Sliders can display photos that match keywords specified by the user, displaying a rich selection of thematic photos on your device. Arrikon have released Photo Portal 1.1 for iPad and iPhone. The app enables you to access your entire computer photo library from the comfort of your favourite sofa, or from anywhere outside your home, using Wi‑Fi or 3G on your iPad or iPhone. Canon Japan announced today that it has released its English version of PERSTEXT, a free iOS application that provides users with a new way of having fun with their photos. The app lets you insert dynamic text into saved images, which can then be shared with friends and family via popular social networks. The application also makes it possible to insert text that appears as if it had been written on the floor or the ground, and provides support for AirPrint-enabled inkjet printers so you can easily print out the images you create. PERSTEXT is available now on iTunes.

Triggertrap has unveiled a brand new “Wearables” mode for its Triggertrap Mobile app, photographers to use a smartwatch to trigger a DSLR camera. This latest update supports the current range of Pebble smartwatches, as well as the upcoming Pebble Time. Support for Apple Watch will be added to the app in the coming weeks. The update is available to download on the iOS app store, and the Triggertrap app for Pebble is available on the Pebble App Store.

Iridient Digital has released Iridient Developer 3.0.2. This update adds support for the Nikon 1 J5, the Olympus TG-4 and Stylus 1S, the Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246), the Canon EOS 760D (Rebel T6s, 8000D), EOS 750D (Rebel T6i, Kiss X8i) and the EOS M3. Additionally, it includes further improvements to the v3 noise reduction introduced in version 3. Both Luminance and Colour noise reduction adjustments in particular are now much more effective with some forms of noise, especially when strongly increasing shadow brightness and with high ISO images. Apple has posted a Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update, which adds system-level support for raw image files generated by the Canon EOS 5DS, 5DS R, 750D and 760D, the Fujifilm X-A2, the Hasselblad CFV-50c and H5D-50c, the Leica C (Typ 112), the Nikon 1 S2 and D7200, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II, the Panasonic Lumix CM1 (pictured) and GF7, and the Pentax MX-1.
