Phase One today released Capture One Pro 8.2. This update adds support for the Fujifilm X-A2, Nikon D5500, Olympus OM-D E-M5 II and Samsung NX1 cameras and eleven lenses (one from Nikon, one from Sigma and nine from Zeiss), plus offers a new Colour Balance tool. Ashampoo Snap 8 is a desktop application that enables users to capture, edit and share screen contents either as single images or videos. This version comes with basic OCR/text recognition allowing users to convert e-mail addresses and text from photos, scanned documents or PDF files into editable computer text. Another addition is the picture-in-picture feature that includes output from your webcam in users' videos. The new capture controls allow you to pause your videos, add effects or apply timer-based time restrictions. Adobe has released the final version of ACR 8.8 and DNG Converter 8.8. This update adds raw image file support for the Casio EX-ZR3500, the Canon EOS 750D and 760D, the Fujifilm X-A2 and XQ2. the Hasselblad Stellar II, the Nikon D5500, the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II, the Panasonic GF7 and the Panasonic Lumix ZS50. It also adds several new lens profiles and bug fixes.

Corel has released an update to PaintShop Pro X7. Service Pack 2 adds support for raw files generated by the Canon EOS 7D MarkII, PowerShot G7X and PowerShot SX60HS, the Fujifilm S1, X100T and X30, the Nikon D750, D810, 1 J4 and 1 S2, the Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) and V-LUX (Typ 114), the Olympus E-PL7, the Pentax K-S1, the Panasonic CM1, LX100, FZ1000, GH4 and the GM5, the Samsung NX3000 and NX1, plus the Sony ILCA-A77M2, A7M2, and A7S. Digital Film Tools have released version 3.0 of EZ Mask,an easy-to-use interactive image masking tool. The application iteratively estimates the transparency value for every pixel in the image, based on a small sample of foreground and background pixels marked by simple strokes on the image, and is capable of extracting almost any object even if you are dealing with fine hair detail, smoke, or reflections. Version 3.0 adds support for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

Defrozo is a free, all-in-one platform that helps photographers better market their work online. Currently raising funds on Kickstarter, Defrozo combines image hosting, website management, CRM, ecommerce, and workflow organisation tools in the integrated WordPress-based platform, all for free. Daminion's digital asset management software has been updated to version 3.7. This edition improves the user experience in both the Standalone and the Server versions, and integrates with the Active Directory to save time on server administration. A new Grouping feature and added functions in the Lightbox panel enable digital assets to be classified more accurately in version 3.7, and huge image files in Camera RAW, PSD, TIFF and BMP format can now be viewed much faster. Lightricks have launched a new photo editing app for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch devices. Billed as a "groundbreaking photo editing application that is poised to revolutionarise mobile photography," Enlight builds on state-of-the-art image processing technologies first implemented in Facetune by Lightricks' founding team, which includes four former computer science PhD students. DxO has released version 10.3 of Dxo Optics Pro, along with DxO FilmPack v5.1.1 and DxO ViewPoint v2.5.3. A new search engine has been added to the Source Browser to help users easily find and load any folder available on the operating system by simply typing its name. Iridient Digital has released Version 3 of Iridient Developer, an acclaimed raw image file conversion and photo processing software for Mac OS. Showfy is an online media sharing service from Magix which allows users to upload and view pictures and videos from practically anywhere. Media uploaded to showfy are saved to so-called streams (galleries in the cloud). Users can be create and manage streams, and add them to a multitude of devices and operating systems. BitTorrent have just launched Version 2.0 of Sync, their file hosting/sharing/synchronisation tool for Free BSD, Linux, Mac OS and Windows. Updates are also being rolled out to Android, iOS, Kindle and Windows Phone devices. "All of the core functionality we introduced in version 1.4 last August still exist in 2.0, letting you securely share folders across all platforms, with visibility into who has access," says Erik Pounds, Vice President of Product Management for BitTorrent Sync. Wacom have released a new version of Bamboo Paper. This iPad app, together with the new Wacom stylus firmware update, considerably improves the precision of the smart styli (Bamboo Stylus fineline and Intuos Creative Stylus 2) through better offset correction..
