The Canon EOS 2000D and EOS 4000D are new entry-level DSLR cameras. Both cameras offer APS-C sensors, DIGIC 4+ image processors, seamless Wi-Fi connectivity, 3fps continuous shooting, straightforward in-camera feature guides, wi-fi connectivity, 500 picture battery life and Full HD movie recording. The EOS 2000D (Rebel T7) additionally features a new 24.1 megapixel APS-C sensor, 7.5 cm LCD screen, Near Field Communication (NFC) and a metal lens mount, while the EOS 4000D (Rebel T100) has an 18 megapixel APS-C sensor, 6.8 cm LCD screen and a plastic lens mount.

Both DSLR cameras will be available to purchase from March 2018:

• EOS 200D + EF-S 18-55mm lens - £469.99 / €549.99 / $549.99

The Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI is the world’s first flashgun equipped with Artifical Intelligent Bounce. It intelligently calculates and maneuvers the flash head position automatically to create optimum lighting for outstanding images, by using a test flash to calculate the perfect angle for natural, flattering illumination, whilst automatically moving the motorised flash head into the optimum position for perfect lighting. 

Note that while it is compatible with all EOS products, the AI Bounce full-auto mode on the Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI will only work with EOS models built after 2014 - excluding EOS 2000D, EOS 4000D, 1300D, EOS M6, EOS M5 and EOS M3.

The Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI will be available in April 2018 priced at £499.99 / €599.99 / $399.99.

KODAK PROFESSIONAL T-MAX P3200, a multi-speed panchromatic black-and-white negative film, is to be revived by Kodak Alaris in March. This film excels when shooting in low light or when capturing fast action. It is ideally suited for handheld street scene photography, night work, and in dimly lit venues where you can’t use flash. 

The Cactus RQ250 Wireless Monolight is a palm-sized, bare-bulb wireless monolight that supports wireless TTL/HSS. The RQ250 is lithium-ion battery-powered, 250 Ws, and can fire 400 full-power flashes on a single charge. The extremely compact design comes with an on-axis LED modelling light, which also functions as an AF assist.

The new Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM Art lens will have a suggested retail price of £1,399.99 in the UK and $1,299.99 in the US. SIGMA, Canon and Nikon mounts will be available to purchase in the UK from March 2018 and mid-March in the US.

The Tokina FiRIN 20mm F2 FE AF is an auto-focus version of the existing FiRIN 20mm F2 FE super wide angle lens for full-frame Sony E-mount. The FiRIN 20mm F2 FE AF is fully compatible with Fast Hybrid AF system and all AF function settings, providing the same AF performance as with common E-mount AF lenses. This new lens will go on sale in Japan at the end of April 2018 and worldwide at the end of May 2018, pricing to be announced.

One of the main criticisms that we've seen aimed at the Fujifilm X-H1 since its launch last week is about its size, with lots of online comments that it's just too big for a mirrorless camera.

To that end, we've gathered a number of different cameras from the far-flung corners of the Photography Blog office, lined them up one-by-one next to the X-H1, and shot each combination from various angles to give you an idea of how they compare in real life.

The cameras are: Fujifilm X-T2, Fujifilm GFX, Panasonic GH5S, Sony A7R II, Sony A6500, Canon EOS 5DSR, Canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon EOS 80D.

Remember, this isn't meant to be a scientific test of the X-H1 - we don't have obvious rivals like the the Olympus O-MD E-M1 II to hand - but it does give you an idea of how it compares to cameras from most of the various systems available today (APS-C mirroless, Medium Format, Micro Four Thirds, 35mm Full-frame mirrorless, 35mm Full-frame DSLR, APS-C DSLR).

Sony introduces dual-camera shooting solution for the RX0 camera with the launch of a new release cable. The new VMC-MM2 will ship in April 2018 priced at approximately £50 / €55 / $50.

Ricoh USA/Europe have announced a rather unique upgrade service for owners of the original Pentax K-1 DSLR - they will replace the camera's main circuit board and the logo on the front, and voila, you have yourself a K-1 Mark II. 

Could this be the future of high-end cameras, where the body remains the same and the "brain" is swapped out for a more capable version? Or is it merely indicative of the small number of changes that Pentax have made in the 2 years since the original K-1 was launched (the more cynical view)?

The upgrade service will cost $550USD / $690 CAD / £450 and be done for a limited time from May 21, 2018 – September 30, 2018.

Nikon is pleased to announce that three of its products have received an ‘iF Design Award 2018’ within the product discipline. They are the D850, D7500 and Coolpix W300 cameras.

The new LG K8 and K10 smartphones will offer advanced camera features such as high-speed auto focus and noise reduction for better low-light photography. The LG K10 is equipped with th eadvanced 13MP rear camera technology found in the flagship LG G6, a high resolution 8MP front camera that supports Bokeh when shooting selfies, and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) which is 23 percent faster than traditional auto focus. The updated LG K8 delivers more advanced camera UX features for 2018 and low-light photography has been improved from the previous generation K8 with even brighter, clearer images.

The Fotospeed Photographer of the Year competition will return at this year's  The Photography Show in Birmingham, UK. The winner will receive a Canon A2 printer (Pro-1000 or equivalent), £500 worth of high quality Fotospeed inkjet paper and a day of one-to-one bespoke tutoring with award-winning photographer and photography journalist, Doug Chinnery.

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is a new high-speed standard zoom lens for Sony 35mm full-frame mirrorless cameras. Currently under development, the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is Tamron's first ever lens for the Sony FE system. It incorporates an all-new high-speed and precise AF driving system called RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) which operates with remarkable quietness, making it perfect for video use. It's also compatible with the “Direct Manual Focus (DMF)” feature that enables Sony cameras to instantly switch between autofocus and manual focus.

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD will be available from mid-2018, price to be announced.

The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD is a compact telephoto zoom lens for full-frame DSLR cameras. It features a best-in-class maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1, internal zoom mechanism, Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) design, 4 stops of VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, and a Fluorine Coating and Moisture-Resistant Construction.

The 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD is compatible with both the 1.4x (Model TC-X14) and 2.0x (Model TC-X20) Teleconverters. An Arca-Swiss style tripod mount is available as an optional accessory. The Tamron 70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD will be aavailable from April 2018 for £699 in the UK and $799 in the US.

A new Kickstarter campaign launches on Friday 23rd February 2018 to fund Remembering Great Apes, a breath-taking new coffee table book showcasing extraordinary images of gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans and bonobos. The book will feature work by more than 50 of the world’s top wildlife photographers, including Art Wolfe, Frans Lanting and Martyn Colbeck. Pre-ordered books through the Kickstarter campaign will cost £40 each (RRP £45) plus postage.
