ProGrade Digital today announced a new line of products designed to uniquely fill the needs of today’s high-end DLSRs, camcorders and digital cinema cameras. Memory cards will be offered in a variety of formats and industry-leading capacities. The new flagship Fujifilm X-H1 is the first camera in the mirroless X series to include in-body image stabilization (IBIS). The 24.3 megapixel X-H1's 5-axis in-body image stabilization system employs three axial accelerometers, three axial Gyro sensors, and a specially developed dual-processor to offer a maximum of 5.5 stops of compensation when used with most (but not all) XF and XC lenses. The X-H1 is also the first camera in the X series to include ETERNA, a new film simulation ideal for shooting movies, creating understated colors and rich shadow tones. It features a new F-log video mode and supports DCI 4K video, 200 Mbps high bit rate recording and 1080/120P high-speed video.

The Fujifilm X-H1 will be available from March 2018. The Fujifilm XH1 body-only costs £1699 / $1899 or £1949 / $2199 with the new VPB-XH1 vertical battery grip.

The FUJINON MKX 18-55mm T2.9 and FUJINON MKX 50-135mm T2.9 are the first full manual cinema lenses to be compatible with the X Series camera range. These lenses deliver high optical performance and comfortable operability for professional video shooting.

The FUJINON MKX 18-55mm T2.9 and FUJINON MKX 50-135mm T2.9 lenses will be available from early Summer 2018 priced at £3499 and £3799 respectively.

Fujifilm have announced new firmware updates for the GFX 50S, X-T20, X-A3 and X-A10 cameras will be released in the next few months. The GFX firmware update 3.00 will add two new functions “Focus Bracketing” and “35mm Format Mode”. The X-T20 firmware update 2.00 will provide support for “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”, improve studio flash controller compatibility, introduce new AF tracking algorithm and include other functional and operational updates.

The ZEISS Loxia 25mm f/2.4 is a compact wide-angle manual focus lens that will appeal to both landscape and architectural photographers.

The ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25 will be available from March 2018 for £1,189.99 (incl.VAT). Filmmakers can also look forward to a special offer on a set comprising all five ZEISS Loxia focal lengths ranging from 21 to 85 millimeters.

The six nominees for the World Press Photo of the Year have been revealed. The winner of the World Press Photo of the Year will be announced at the Awards Show in Amsterdam on 12 April.

Panasonic has announced the world's first 8K high-resolution global shutter technology. This can capture 36 megapixel images at 60fps using a CMOS image sensor with an organic photoconductive film (OPF). Utilizing the global shutter function that enables simultaneous image capture by all pixels, Panasonic expect to be able to capture moving objects instantaneously without distortion. Will we see this sensor used in the successor to the GH5/GH5s cameras?

LG will introduce the first of a suite of AI technologies for its smartphones at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The new technology will be featured in the 2018 version of the LG V30, LG’s most advanced flagship smartphone to date.

‘Love in London’ is an iconic photography competition celebrating unity and hope in the aftermath of a turbulent year. The aim is to inspire London with a wave of positivity and love, with the winning photos being displayed across the capital on digital adverts, including billboards and bus stop signs.

Panasonic further grows its range of Lumix G cameras with the GX9. Billed by Panasonic as a premium street photography camera, the GX9 slots into the range alongside the GX8 and GX80, replacing neither of these models. 

The Panasonic GX9 is most readily compared to the GX80. In general, any new features mentioned in this first look are against the GX80. 

We’ve had extended time with a final version of the camera prior to its announcement. Ahead of our full review, let’s take a look at our first impressions of the Panasonic Lumix GX9.

Panasonic updates its premium travel-zoom compact camera, the Lumix TZ100, with the launch of the Panasonic Lumix TZ200. However, the TZ100 will not be phased out and the two cameras will be available simultaneously.

We’ve had our hands on a pre-production version ahead of its launch. At this stage we cannot comment on image quality or handling from our brief time with the camera. We will be sure to share our full review soon, once we’ve had enough time with a final version.

The Panasonic Lumix GX9 is a new compact system camera with a sleek design aimed at street photographers. The GX9 has a 20.3 megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, Live View Finder that tilts up 80-degrees, 3.0-inch 1240K-dot touch monitor, 5-axis Dual Image Stabilisation system, 4K video recording, an exposure dial and a focus lever, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Panasonic GX9 will go on sale in the UK in early March, priced at £699 (body only).
