Panasonic further grows its range of Lumix G cameras with the GX9. Billed by Panasonic as a premium street photography camera, the GX9 slots into the range alongside the GX8 and GX80, replacing neither of these models. 

The Panasonic GX9 is most readily compared to the GX80. In general, any new features mentioned in this first look are against the GX80. 

We’ve had extended time with a final version of the camera prior to its announcement. Ahead of our full review, let’s take a look at our first impressions of the Panasonic Lumix GX9.

Panasonic updates its premium travel-zoom compact camera, the Lumix TZ100, with the launch of the Panasonic Lumix TZ200. However, the TZ100 will not be phased out and the two cameras will be available simultaneously.

We’ve had our hands on a pre-production version ahead of its launch. At this stage we cannot comment on image quality or handling from our brief time with the camera. We will be sure to share our full review soon, once we’ve had enough time with a final version.

The Panasonic Lumix GX9 is a new compact system camera with a sleek design aimed at street photographers. The GX9 has a 20.3 megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, Live View Finder that tilts up 80-degrees, 3.0-inch 1240K-dot touch monitor, 5-axis Dual Image Stabilisation system, 4K video recording, an exposure dial and a focus lever, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Panasonic GX9 will go on sale in the UK in early March, priced at £699 (body only).

The Panasonic Lumix TZ200 is a new travel zoom camera with a 1-inch image sensor and a 15x, 24-360mm Leica optical zoom lens. The TZ200 also has 5-axis image stabilisation, a Live View Finder, a 3-inch touchscreen, 3cm macro mode, internal RAW development, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and can shoot 4K and 120fps video.

The Panasonic TZ200 goes on sale in the UK in early March, priced at £729.

Lightroom Classic CC v7.2 has just been released. This version offers faster performance on machines with 12 GB of RAM or more, when you import and export photos, move between photos in Loupe view, or create HDR images and panoramas.

Meyer-Optik-Görlitz have just launched the second version of their Somnium 85 F1.5 lens, known for its swirly bokeh. Currently available for pre-sale for $999, half the full price of $1999, the Somnium II 85 F1.5 is a new version of the first ever art lens that Meyer-Optik-Görlitz released, which now comes in a more modern, enhanced design with a matt black finish, improved focu ring, and clickless aperture ring for videography. The Somnium II 85 F1.5 will be handmade in Hamburg Germany and will be available in Canon-EF, Nikon-F, M42, Pentax-K, Sony-E & Fuji X mounts.
