Gitzo have launched their new Microphone Boom poles. Built for expert and professional audio technicians and sound operators, the new Gitzo Booms enable effortless internal cabling. The audio cable can be easily inserted thanks to smart, removable top and bottom attachments, and exits naturally from the side. This allows boom operators to hold the boom vertically on the floor without pinching the cable. The new mic booms end with larger tube sections than the previous range, reducing unwanted flexion and keeping the microphone in its desired position. The new range covers popular lengths (250-350cm) and tube diameters, meeting the needs of most locations and providing an optimal balance between lightness and stiffness. Fotodiox Pro has announced the PopSpot Focusable Fresnel LED light. Roughly the size of a soda can, the PopSpot allows photographers and videographers to focus its powerful beam for a high precision, strong contrast and dramatic shadows. “The problem with most Fresnel lights is they’re typically quite bulky, heavy and fragile, and they get screaming hot to the touch,” said Bohus Blahut, marketing director for Fotodiox Pro. “But our new PopSpot Focusable Fresnel does away with those pitfalls by combining power and control in a form factor about the size of a pop can. A simple twist focuses the PopSpot's output from a 55° to 25° beam angle, and removable barn doors offer further control of the shape and direction of the light. LockCircle have launched the new new Cage Kinetics XT2 cinematic cage, which is designed to fit like a glove around the Fujifilm X-T2 compact system camera. Featuring the exclusive LockCircle “Asymmetrical Design Approach” for right-handed camera control, the Cage Kinetics XT2 integrates the MicroPort micro HDMI / USB 3.0 connectors locking and the popular LockPort (micro to full-size HDMI and micro to full-size USB 3.0 output), for serious protection while shooting in rough production enviroments. Several 1/4”-20 (79!) and 3/8” (3) threads are available for multiple accessories and professional heavy-duty mounting. Canon is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the launch of its Electro Optical System (EOS), which includes EOS-series interchangeable-lens cameras and a diverse range of system accessories. The system debuted in March 1987 with the launch of the EOS 650 SLR camera and EF lenses, making EOS cameras the World’s first to incorporate an electronic mount system, representing a new generation of auto focus SLR cameras. Currently, the EOS system, including the Cinema EOS system, comprises 24 models with a selection of 97 EF lenses. To mark this milestone, Canon is displaying a range of cameras and lenses from the EOS archive on its stand at The Photography Show, including the EOS 650 and the EF 1200mm f/5.6L USM, the world’s longest focal length and largest aperture lens. Hasselblad has announced the 2017 Hasselblad Experience workshop series. Hosted by a selection of top photographers, guests will have access to a range of professional Hasselblad equipment during the trips including the X1D and all existing lenses. Adobe have released an update to Lightroom Mobile, bringing raw HDR image capture to select Android and iOS devices.  These updates, version 2.7 for iOS and version 2.3 for Android, are available for free. "Previously, capturing an image in HDR either meant using a DSLR or mirrorless camera, capturing multiple exposures, copying to your computer, and then merging in an application like Photoshop, Adobe Camera Raw, or Lightroom," says Josh Haftel, Senior Product Manager at Adobe. "Alternatively, you could capture an HDR JPEG on your phone, though those images normally used only two shots and often failed to capture the full range of tonality in difficult lighting scenarios. By capturing three raw shots and merging on the phone, you get a greatly increased dynamic range with the ability to edit and share right away." This new functionality is currently available on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, and the Apple iPhone SE, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus and iPad Pro 9.7.

Iridient Digital has released Iridient Developer 3.1.4, a raw file conversion and photo processing application for Mac OS X. This update brings support for the Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II and EOS M6, the Fujifilm GFX 50S, X-T20, X100F. and X-A10, the Panasonic GH5 and FZ80, the Pentax KP, the Leica M10 and the Sigma sd Quattro H. The company also launched Iridient X-Transformer 1.0 beta 3 for both Mac OS and Windows, adding support for the Fujifilm GFX50S, X-T20 and X100F.

Leica have unveiled a number of new accessories including the Leica Rope Straps - a selection of stylish carrying straps designed by COOPH - as well as an extensive range of high-quality tripods made by Gitzo. The Leica Rope Straps are manufactured from the same robust material used in climbing ropes, and feature trim elements made from Italian leather. These straps are durable yet elegant accessoriesoffering a safe and comfortable carrying sulution for cameras and binoculars. They are available in four colours – Fire, Glowing Red, Night and Oasis, in two different lengths, and with a choice of metal split ring or nylon connectors. Aurelius Equity Opportunities have acquired Wex Photographic from Barclays. Following the deal, Wex will be merged with Calumet Photographic, a multi-channel photographic retailer acquired by Aurelius in June 2016. Servicing half a million customers across the UK, Wex is the country’s largest online specialist photographic retailer, with an annual turnover of €84 million. The integration with Calumet will offer significant strategic benefits to both companies with scope to couple Wex’s online expertise with Calumet’s pan-European in-store experience.

One of the world’s greatest living photographers, Sebastião Salgado, has been confirmed to speak on the Super Stage at The Photography Show, on Tuesday, 21st March at 11am. ‘A morning with Salgado’, brought to the show by Canon and The Royal Photographic Society, will offer photography professionals and enthusiasts a rare insight into the award-winning Brazilian photographer’s powerful documentation of communities around the world. Salgado will also take part in a Q&A with photographer Clive Booth on Canon’s Live Stage at 2pm on the same day. Tickets for Salgado’s Super Stage session are priced at £20.

Olympus have issued a firmware update for their OM-D E-M1 Mark II compact system camera. According to the company, firmware version 1.1 improves the "stability of raw file formation". Users can update their camera's firmware using the Olympus Digital Camera Updater utility.

The Canon and Nikon versions of the Sigma EF-630 flashgun are scheduled to start shipping later this month. First announced in 2016 (and already available for Sigma cameras), the EF-630 is a multifunctional clip-on type flash designed to work with today's advanced digital SLR cameras. Featuring a zoomable tilt-swivel head with a zoom coverage of 24-200mm, the Sigma EF-630 offers wireless TTL exposure control as well as high-speed sync, rear-curtain sync and modelling flash functions. Photographers can update the unit's firmware via the optional Flash USB Dock FD-11. The recommended retail price of the Sigma EF-630 is $379.
