Iceland-based Kúla Inventions have announced Kúla Bebe, a new product that will enable 3D photography with smartphones. Comprising four high-precision mirrors, Kúla Bebe is easily attached to and detached from the phone's lens and comes with Kúla’s Cinema-Box for immediate 3D viewing on the smartphone display. The company is launching the product tomorrow on Kickstarter, along with an improved version of the Kúla Deeper 3D photography attachment for DSLR cameras. Kúla’s image processing software Kúlacode can export images and videos captured with Kúla Deeper and Bebe to multiple 3D formats including 3D TV, stereoscopic (for CinemaBox, StereoViewer, Oculus Rift and more), anaglyph (red/cyan), crosseye and wigglegram. The company aims to raise $40.000 through the Kickstarter campaign.

The Impossible Cyan 600 and Magenta 600 Monochrome are the first in a new series of Impossible monochrome films. “We have been experiencing a huge demand for films that take users out of the ‘norm’ of the classic square, white frame everyone recognises as a ‘Polaroid’,." says Creed O’Hanlon, Impossible’s Chief Executive Officer. "Impossible photographers like to push the boundaries of their creativity and we try to support them with a range of different instant film materials." Impossible Cyan 600 Monochrome and Magenta 600 Monochrome can be shot in any Polaroid 600-type camera or Impossible’s own Instant Lab. The Lomographic Society has unveiled the LomoChrome Turquoise XR 100-400 film. Now available to pre-order with a quantity of only 5,000 from the first batch, the LomoChrome Turquoise XR 100-400 film comes in 35mm and 120 formats and retails in 5, 10, 15 or 20 packs. Red Giant has  released Offload, a brand new standalone application for reliable backup of footage in the field. Unlike a typical footage “copy and paste” backup operation, Offload gives users clear visual assurances that their footage has been safely copied. The user interface features progress indicators as well as footage thumbnails, and offers file verification notices so that users are assured that their work has been safely transferred to disk. AutoBracket is a new app that brings AE bracketing to iPads and iPhones. Users can shoot 3 photos in rapid succession, each at a different exposure setting. On the Apple  iPhone 5, 5S, 6, 6 Plus and the newer iPads, you can precisely set the bracketing intervals via a bracket slider, view a colour-coded histogram, merge the three exposures to capture much higherluminosity range, and adjust exposure and focus independently of each other. AutoBravket is available for $1.99 on iTunes.

Adobe has released a new Lightroom add-on called Aperture Importer. As the name suggests, this plugin enables Aperture (and iPhoto) users to import their libraries - including data such as flags, geotags, ratings, keywords and more - to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Note that colour labels, stacks, and face tags will be imported as Lightroom keywords.

Apple has launched a new 27-inch iMac with a 5K "Retina" display. Billed as the world's highest-resolution computer screen, the new iMac's integrated 5K monitor can display 14.7-megapixel (5120x2880-pixel) photos at native resolution. "To improve the contrast ratio, iMac with Retina 5K display uses a new photo alignment process and a compensation film to deliver blacker blacks and more vibrant colors from any viewing angle," the company says. "In addition, every iMac with Retina 5K display is calibrated using three state-of-the-art spectroradiometers to ensure precise and accurate colour." The new iMac comes with a 3.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, and for the first time can be configured with a 4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 4.4 GHz. Itc can also be configured with up to 32GB of memory, a 3TB Fusion Drive, or up to 1TB of PCIe-based flash storage. The Apple iPad Mini 3 is a new 7.9" tablet with a 5-megapixel primary camera, a 326ppi display and a fingerprint sensor. From a photographer's point of view, the iPad Mini 3 is essentially identical to its predecessor: it has the same iSight camera module with a five-element f/2.4 lens, geotagging, HDR exposure blending, timer and panorama modes, and Full HD movie recording capabilities; and the same 2048x1536-pixel IPS panel as the iPad Mini 2. Pricing for the new tablet starts at $399.

The Apple iPad Air 2 is a new iOS 8.1-powered tablet with an enhanced Retina display and improved cameras. Corel has updated its AfterShot Pro software to Version 2.1. Available free to registered users, the 2.1 update introduces a number of new features and enhancements including new HDR tools for Mac and Linux, support for more than 17 new raw camera profiles, an improved Highlight Recovery Tool, as well as various performance and stability enhancements. Newly supported cameras include the Canon SX50 HS, the Fujifilm X-T1, X-E1, X-E2, X-Pro1, X-M1, X100S and X20, the Nikon D4s, D3300, 1 V3, 1 J4, Coolpix P330 and Coolpix A, and the Pentax Q, 645Z and K-500.

The Canon Cine-Servo 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 is a new broadcast lens offering a focal range of 50-1000mm and a built-in 1.5x extender.
