Kenro, the UK distributor of Reflecta photo products, has launched a new studio flash kit - the Reflecta VisiLux StudioKit 300. Weighing in at just 8.5kg, the VisiLux StudioKit 300 comprises two 300Ws flash heads - each featuring an LED display, stepless controls, cooling, overheat protection and five sync modes -, two 220cm light stands, two 50x70cm softboxes with intermediate diffusers, one 84cm transparent umbrella, one 84cm silver-reflection umbrella, one wireless remote control, two synchro-cables (3.5m each) and a carrying bag. Optional accessories include a barn door kit with filters, beauty dish with honeycomb grid, snoots, a wireless remote control with AC plug, and spare lamps. The VisiLux StudioKit 300 is available now with an SRP of £543.

Samsung today annnounced that it is now shipping a new line of SD and microSD memory cards. Boasting newly designed exteriors and branding, the new cards are available in PRO, EVO and Standard categories, colour coded silver, orange and blue respectively. The PRO and EVO products both support UHS-I Grade 1 level performance with read speeds of up to 90MB/s and 48MB/s. All models are guaranteed to survive up to 24 hours in seawater and endure operating temperatures from -13°F to 185°F and non-operating temperatures from- 40°F to 185°F (-25°C to 85°C and -40°C to 85°C). The new Samsung memory card range will be show on the Kondor stand at this year’s Gadget Show 9-13th April, NEC Birmingham, Hall 6, Stand K40.

Hink have launched a Kickstarter project to help fund the commercialisation of what they call 'the world's first flexible flashgun." Called Spacefish, the new flash makes it easier to control your light when shooting and allows you to be more creative. Its flexible neck means that flash movement is no longer limited to tilting and swivelling the flash head. Additionally, Hink have made it easier to attach modular accessories with inbuilt systems for colour filters and remote triggers. Spacefish has a built-in LED modelling/AF-­assist light, a recycle time of approximately 0.8 seconds, and a guide number of 33 in metres. It is currently a manual flash, but if the project surpasses its Kickstarter target, Hink will be able to include e-TTL exposure control on the first model. Sony has posted a 4K sample movie shot entirely on the brand new Sony A7S compact system camera. The Sony A7S is an E-mount interchangeable-lens camera with a 12-megapixel full-frame imager capable of full-pixel read-out - without pixel binning - for 4K videos and QFHD video output through HDMI. The Sony A7S is a new 12.2-megapixel compact system camera with a 35mm full-frame sensor, 4K movie recording, a sensitivity range of ISO 50 to 102,400 (extendable to ISO 409,600)  and an improved auto focus system that remains operational down to light levels as low as -4EV. Using data read-out from every single pixel of the 35mm full-frame sensor, the Sony A7S records 4K movies (24p and 25p) that are free from aliasing and jaggies. The camera's professional video functions include XAVC S Full HD recording at 50Mbps, time code and optional XLR audio inputs. The new α7S full-frame digital camera from Sony will be available in Summer 2014, with pricing to be confirmed..

Arizona based White Dot has launched a Kickstarter project to raise funds for a new camera slider. Designed for digital SLR cameras, the Satellite slider features precision bearing wheels and fully machined sliding surfaces. "In addition to having incredible build quality, the Satellite has many additional features that are a great fit for filmmakers," says Justin Turley, an electrical engineer. These include three stroke lengths, many accessories, four different leg types to choose from, a belt-drive system with crank handwheel, optional motor drive, and much more. The starting price for the Satellite is $150.

Kenro has released  the new Braun SixZero Ultimate Action camera. Offering 1080i/60fps, 1080p/30fps and 720p/60fps capture modes the Braun SixZero Ultimate Action camera has an electronic high speed shutter, an ultra-wide lens and an integrated 1.5 inch LCD monitor. The device ships with an underwater housing that makes it possible for users to dive up to a depth of 30m, plus a remote control, mounting accessories for bikes, cars and helmets, a user manual, power adapter, USB-cable and HDMI cable - all for £200.

Kenro has just launched the Reflecta Super 8 Scanner, which allows users to digitise their Super 8 films in HD or Full HD quality. The device scans a 15m roll of Super 8 (5.78 x 4.01mm) cine film in just over 2 hours and 45 minutes when connected directly to a PC.
