It boasts the world's second longest zoom lens of 102x, almost but not quite pipping the Nikon P1000 to that title, so it doesn't offer quite the same telephoto reach as the Nikon, being wider-angle instead (19.5-1989mm effective focal length).

The Tokina Opera 16-28mm f/2.8 and Firin 100mm f/2.8 AF Macro FE are so new that Tokina haven't actually announced them yet. We were told that both lenses would be available next year, and we weren't allowed to handle either lens at all.

Russian brand Zenit and Leica Camera have jointly designed a new digital rangefinder camera called the Zenit M, which technically based on the Leica M Type 240 platform, but was modified both in terms of hardware and software. The camera is equipped with the Zenitar 35 mm f/1.0 lens, completely designed and manufactured in Russia, which has a unique bokeh and soft focus effect.

The Zenit M will be available from December 2018 in Europe and from January 2019 in Russia at both Zenit's online store and selected photo shops for around US$5,900-$7,000.

The Kodak AZ1000 is a new superzoom camera with a 102x optical zoom lens, 20.68 megapixel image sensor and 7fps full resolution burst shooting.

Canon may have announced all of their new products before the Photokina show, but there were still some exciting things on their stand that we hadn't seen before.

Prototypes of the new Z series 14-30mm f/4 and 58mm f/0.95 lenses are on display, along with an exploded view and barebones chassis of the Nikon Z 7 camera, not to mention the new D3500 DSLR (remember those?!).

Olympus reaffirmed their commitment to Micro Four Thirds in their press conference at Photokina today, with plans to announce new products in 2019 as part of their 100th Anniversary celebrations.

Unlike fellow MFT member, Panasonic, Olympus have not unveiled any plans to release a camera system with a larger sensor, instead choosing to continue to offer "a professional camera system boasting great image quality while still being compact and featuring light weight.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sigma, Kazuto Yamaki, has confirmed that the company will be releasing their own L-mount camera in the near future (2019).

In a behind-closed-doors meeting here at Photokina, Sigma told Photography Blog that the camera will will be a full-frame model, rather than APS-C.
