The HP Photosmart A826 compact photo printer features a massive 7 inch color touchscreen. The HP A826 can print borderless 4x6 and 5x7 inch photos, holiday cards, wallets and panoramas. Available in September 2007 in North America, the HP Photosmart A826 will cost $249.

The HP Photosmart A626 compact printer includes 200 creative options, including album pages, frames, graphics and effects. The HP A626 features the world’s first 4.8-inch color touchscreen LCD, built-in handle, foldup tray and, optional battery. Available in September 2007 in North America, the HP Photosmart A626 will cost $179.

The HP Photosmart A526 compact printer can make a 4x6 inch photo in as fast as 39 seconds. The HP A526 features a 2.4 inch color LCD display, angled for comfortable viewing, plus a a foldup paper tray and convenient built-in handle. Available in September 2007 in North America, the HP Photosmart A526 will cost $99.

HP is spending $300 Million on a global marketing campaign to help promote the company’s Print 2.0 strategy. HP have also introduced HP Scitex X2 printhead technology, the company’s first piezoelectric printhead. HP has formed new alliances with Flickr, Windows® Live Spaces and Yahoo! to enable easier web printing. Finally, HP has unveiled a series of new consumer printers – including the industry’s first touchscreen on a compact photo printer – and a variety of unique photo books.

Epson has redesigned its consumer photo paper range, offering a simple choice of three glossy paper types. The new line-up now includes Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Glossy Photo Paper and Photo Paper, easily identified by the Epson star rating. The papers are all available in three sizes, 10x15cm (4x6”), 13x18cm (5x7”) and A4.

The Lexmark X6570, Lexmark X7550, Lexmark X4850 are new wireless all-in-ones aimed at the small office/home office user. “Lexmark’s new all-in-ones deliver business-class productivity with the added advantages of wireless to help busy professionals get more done quickly, easily and affordably,” said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division. The Lexmark X6570, Lexmark X7550, Lexmark X4850 will all be available in September for $149.99, $199.99 and $149.99 respectively. Also announced are the Lexmark Z1520 Wireless Color Printer and Lexmark X5070 and Lexmark X5495 Color All-in-Ones, also available in September.

The Canon mini320 is a new compact photo printer that produces 7x5 inch prints. Only available in the USA, the Canon mini320 features a high-definition 2.5” LCD screen and Easy-Scroll Wheel interface. “The addition of this new printer to our renowned line-up provides consumers with a high-quality, feature-rich compact photo printer that can produce exceptional 5” x 7” photo prints.” said Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. The estimated selling price of the Canon mini320 is $179.99.

The Canon MP970 is the new top-of-the-range PIXMA All-in-One printer. Replacing the PIXMA MP810, the MP970 features the highest print and scan quality in the range. “It successfully combines all the features serious analogue and digital photographers demand: supreme print quality, advanced functionality and total reliability.” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. The Canon MP970 will be available from October 2007 priced at £249.00 / €369.00 RRP inc. VAT.

The Canon MP610 and Canon MP520 PIXMA Photo All-in-Ones combine rapid, photo lab quality printing with copy and scan functionality. “By further enhancing print and copy capabilities, we are setting new standards for PIXMA Photo All-in-Ones while keeping prices at an accessible level.” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging, Europe. The Canon MP220 and Canon MP210 are new entry-level PIXMA All-in-One printers. Replacing the MP160 and MP180, both models benefit from faster printing speeds, faster start-up and improved print and copy quality. “The new PIXMA MP210 and MP220 will appeal to any new user seeking a reliable, photo lab quality All-in-One printer.” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. The Canon MX700, Canon MX310 and Canon MX300 PIXMA All-in-Ones offer affordable, fax-enabled multifunctionality for first-time buyers. “With the MX300, MX310 and MX700, home office users can enjoy all the benefits of PIXMA quality with the convenience of high speed faxing,” said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. The Canon iP4500 and Canon iP3500 are new additions to the PIXMA range of photo printers. Replacing the iP4300 - Europe’s bestselling inkjet printer – the Canon iP4500 employs 1pl droplets for a resolution of up to 9600x2400dpi. The mid-range Canon iP3500 succeeds the iP3300, achieving a photo print speed of 47 seconds. The iP4500 and iP3500 will be available from September 2007 priced at £59.00 / €89.00 RRP inc.VAT and £79.00 / €119.00 RRP inc. VAT respectively.

The Epson RX680, Epson RX595 and Epson R280 are Epson’s newest line of Ultra Hi-Definition printer models. All three Ultra Hi-Definition models – the Epson Stylus Photo R280 photo printer, Epson Stylus Photo RX595 all-in-one and Epson Stylus Photo RX680 all-in-one – deliver a dozen 4”x6” photos in as fast as 2 minutes, 17 seconds . “Our newest generation of Ultra Hi-Definition products produce legendary professional-quality photos, yet are easy enough for anyone to use,” said Steve Semos, product manager, Epson. All three models will be available in September. The estimated street prices are $99.99 for the Epson Stylus Photo R280, $149.99 for the Epson Stylus Photo RX595 and $199.99 for the Epson Stylus Photo RX680.

The Epson DX9400F is a is a 4 colour all-in-one printer, scanner, copier and colour fax machine. It uses Epson DURABrite Ultra individual ink cartridges and offers a 6.3cm LCD viewer. A 10x15cm photo can be printed in only 26 seconds while up to 32ppm can be printed in black and white and colour. The Epson DX9400F will cost £129.99, available November 2007.

The Epson PM 290 and PM 260 are two new additions to the PictureMate range of compact photo printers. Both models can produce a 10x15cm borderless lab-quality photo in just 37 seconds. The Epson PM 290 and PM 260 offer a large 9.1cm LCD colour screen and direct printing from digital camera memory cards, USB DIRECT PRINT and PictBridge. In addition the PM 290 features Bluetooth connectivity as standard and an integrated CD-RW/DVD drive.

The Epson RX685 and Epson RX585 are new 6 colour photo all-in-ones. Both models feature Epson’s Claria Photographic Ink, individual ink cartridges for cost efficient printing and a 6.3cm colour LCD screen. The RX685 delivers premium quality prints that look better than the lab in just 23 seconds. Print life from both the Epson RX685 and Epson RX585 is up to 200 years when stored in an album and 98 years when displayed in a photo frame.

The Epson R285 an affordable six-colour A4 photo printer which uses Epson Claria Photographic Ink. Premium quality photos that look better than the lab are produced in just 27 seconds. The R285 offers print life of up to 200 years when stored in an album or 98 years when displayed in a photo frame. The R825 will cost £69.99, available September 2007.

The Epson DX8400 and Epson DX7400 are new all-in-one four colour inkjet printers featuring Epson’s DURABrite Ultra Ink. Both models offer fast print speeds of up to 32ppm and it takes 26 seconds for a 10x15cm photo in draft, borderless mode. The Epson DX8400 Series additionally features a 6.3cm LCD viewer. The DX7400 will cost £79.99 and the DX8400 £99.99, available from 3rd September 2007.

The Epson D120 is a high-speed, high-quality printer for the home and the office. It offers print speeds up to 37ppm in black and white and 20ppm in colour and uses Epson’s individual ink cartridge system. The Epson D120 is also suitable for photos, with a 10x15cm printed in just 49 seconds. The Epson D120 will cost £69.99 and is available from 3rd September. A D120 Network edition costs £99.99, available from 1st October.

The Epson CX7400, Epson CX8400 and Epson CX9400Fax are three new all-in-ones aimed at the the small office and home office environments. They are also well suited to novice digital camera owners who occasionally want to print photos on photo paper with or without a computer. “Head-to-head, this lineup offers more features and better image quality than competitive models.
