Panasonic have launched a new advertising campaign for their range of Lumix cameras. Set in a classy beachside resort, the new campaign showcases the 4K Photo function available on selected Lumix models.Centred on a cool young boy, the advert follows how he confidently and cheekily springs off a diving board, and for a split second adopts a leisure dive. Highlighting the 4K photo feature, his Mum is filming the action on her Panasonic Lumix GX80 and is able to flick through the video footage and select the best frame. The ad then shows how the image has become a masterpiece in the family home, holding pride of place in the centre of the wall. The advertising campaign will run for four weeks in the United Kingdom. Olympus have unveiled a new rugged action camera that adds tracking data to help improve your performance. The new Olympus TG-Tracker has a 1/2.3"-type 7.2-megapixel imager capable to record 4K footage, a detachable grip, a 14mm (eq.) f/2 ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-axis image stabilisation and a 1.5" flip-out LCD monitor. It is shockproof to a height of 2.1 metres, crushproof to a weight of 100kg, dustproof, freezeproof down to -10°C and waterproof down to a depth of 30 metres. Underwater, the camera automatically adjusts white balance and other settings, and there is an up to 60-lumen spotlight for shooting when it would otherwise be too dark. And unlike products with regular geotagging, the TG-Tracker can sense acceleration, altitude or depth and temperature as well as direction of movement – in addition to latitude and longitude. This gives extreme sports enthusiasts a much fuller picture of where they were, what was happening and how they were performing at the moment any given image was captured. The Olympus Tough TG-Tracker will become available next month, priced at £279.99/$349.99/€349.00.

Canon are offering up to £50/€70 cashback on selected items in the UK and Ireland, plus the chance to win a three-night break in Dubai for two people. Eligible products include digital SLR cameras such as the EOS 760D (pictured), EOS 750D, EOS 700D and EOS 100D, CSCs (EOS M3 & M10), digital compact cameras, camcorders, printers, lenses and the Speedlite 430EX III-RT flash. The offer runs to 31 August 2016.

Canon today announced the PowerShot SX620 HS, a compact superzoom camera with a 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and 25x optical zoom. Other highlights include Full HD movie capture with Dynamic Image Stabilisation, a range of creative effects and filters, as well as WiFi and NFC. For direct uploads and new ways of sharing, the PowerShot SX620 HS is also compatible with the Canon Connect Station CS100. The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS will be available from June with an RRP of £219.99/€299.99.

Canon has been awarded five accolades by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). The "Best Professional/High-Res DSLR" title went to the Canon EOS 5DS / 5DSR (pictured), while the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II has been named the year's "Best Photo/Video Professional Camera." The Canon IXUS 285 HS has won the "Easy Compact Camera" category, and the Canon PowerShot G5 X has received the "Best Expert Compact Camera" award. Last but not least, the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 has been selected as the world's best photo printer.

The Technical Image Press Association today presented Panasonic with three TIPA awards. The Lumix DMC-FZ330 was named ‘Best Superzoom Camera,’ the the Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH. normal prime (for the Micro Four Thirds system, pictured) has won the title ‘Best CSC Entry Level Lens,’ while the Panasonic HC-VXF990 has received the accolade for Best Camcorder.

Sony today launched the Cyber-shot RX10 III bridge camera featuring a 1"-type 20.1-megapixel imager and a 24-600mm (eq.) f/2.4-4 lens. Other highlights include a silent shutter, Fast Intelligent AF, an electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million dots, 4K video capture at upto 100Mb/s, 1000fps movie recording for super-slow-motion playback, plus Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. The Optical SteadyShot algorithm has been optimised for the lens design of the RX10 III and delivers up to 4.5 stops of image stabilisation. Additionally, with a minimum focusing distance of 72cm at a fully extended 600mm(0.49x maximum magnification), the new lens is capable of producing highly detailed tele-macro images. The aperture unit has nine blades that are designed to create a near-perfect circle in the f/2.4 to f/11 aperture range. The Sony RX10 III will be available in the UK from April priced at £1,250.

Olympus has announced the European availability of the new Olympus TG-870 rugged camera. First unveiled in January, the Olympus Tough TG-870 is a premium all-weather compact with a 21-105mm equivalent lens,180-degree tilting 920,000-dot LCD screen, customisable front button, built-in Wi-Fi, next-generation GPS and 13 Art Filters. The camera is waterproof to depths of 50 feet (15 m), freezeproof to 14℉ (-10℃), shockproof from 7 feet (2.1 m), crushproof to 220 pounds (100 kg) of force and dustproof. The customisable button on the front of the camera can be programmed for several functions, including shutter release, video recording, monitor boost, LED assist and Super Macro Mode. The Olympus Tough TG-870 will come to Europe in April, carrying a recommended retail price of £249.99/€299.00. A free 6-month warranty extension is available if you sign up online for MyOlympus membership.

Sony today introduced the newest addition to their compact zoom camera lineup, the DSC-HX80. Featuring an 18.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, 30x optical zoom and a retractable OLED EVF, the Wi-Fi / NFC compatible Sony HX80 also boasts a tilting 921k dot LCD screen and Full HD movie recording capabilities. The new camera will be available next month, priced at $350.

DxO have released an update to the DxO ONE iPhone app. Version 1.3 introduces several new features that further extend the use of the DxO ONE camera, including the ability to use the OLED display as a novel framing assistant to help quickly compose while operating the camera with one hand. The update also introduces a host of other features including motion blur alert, and a new way to dial in white balance, metering and focus modes, which can also be viewed as overlays in the viewfinder along with your iPhone battery level. Additionally, DxO have unbundled their desktop software from the package (DxO FilmPack and DxO OpticsPro now sold separately), enabling even more photographers to get their hands on the DxO ONE camera at a new low price of £399.

Available in black, the Nikon DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6 features Nikon's Sports VR image stabilisation, a built-in 2359k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, and a high-resolution OLED vari-angle touchscreen. Images can be captured in either JPEG or NEF format, and the camera can record movies in 4K resolution at 30p/25p. Other key highlights include a fast Advanced Hybrid AF system, a continuous shooting speed of 60fps with fixed focus and 20fps with AF, plus an ISO 518 hot shoe, which accepts various accessories including Nikon DSLR Speedlights. Available in early Summer, the Nikon DL24-500 f/2.8-5.6 will retail for $999.95.

An EXPEED 6A processor with no less than four CPUs enables continuous shooting speeds of 60 fps with focus fixed at the first frame, or up to 20 fps with continuous AF. Nikon’s Dual Detect Optical VR system delivers enhanced shake detection and correction. Available in black and silver, the camera also features an ISO 518 hot-shoe, a Super Macro Mode, a 1037k-dot OLED tilt touchscreen, pop-up flash, plus customisable zoom and control rings around the lens barrel. Nikon have announced three new Coolpix compact cameras. The Nikon Coolpix A900 (£329.99/€429.95/$399.95) is a slim long zoom compact camera that packs a 35x zoom lens, a tilting 3" display and a 20-megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor. Users can also capture 4K UHD video at 30fps and share their images and movies via Nikon SnapBridge. The Coolpix B500 (£219.99/€289.95/$299.95) is an ergonomically designed zoom camera powered by AA batteries. A 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor alongside an impressive 40x optical zoom lets users capture high quality images from near or far. The camera also offers hybrid VR to combat camera shake when shooting on-the-go. To complement still images captured, the B500 can record full 1080p HD video, while framing every shot is made easy using the high resolution tilting 920k-dot 3-inch LCD screen. Last but not least the Nikon B700 (£359.99/€469.95/$499.95) features a 60x zoom lens, a 20.3-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS imager, 5fps stills shooting, raw image capture and 4K video. The cameras will be available from April 2016.

Not content with launching 10 new photo products at CES, Vegas, at the start of the year, followed by the surprise announcement of the 1DX Mark II weeks later, photo stalwart Canon has launched a further five new products with May 2016 availability.
