The 28th PhotographyBLOG Portfolio has been submitted by Steven Mansour.
“Here is a small collection of landscape, urban and architecture photographs I’ve taken over the past couple of years. I work part time as a semi-pro wedding photographer, and have only recently started to really learn more about landscape and architecture photography.
There isn’t a very apparent “theme” to the photos apart from the fact that many of them were taken on trips abroad, and all of them seem to convey an emotion.
Most of them were taken with a Canon EOS 10D, although some of them are from a Canon G2.”

At least according to all you PhotographyBLOG readers anyway! You voted in your hundreds to say that cameraphones will definitely not be the new digital cameras of the future, with 450 people expressing their disagreement with the question “Will cameraphones be the new digital cameras of the future?”. Only 75 people thought that camera phones would replace conventional digicams.
The new PhotographyBLOG poll is a topical one: “Are you excited by the new Canon announcements?”

You’ve hopefully noticed by now that PhotographyBLOG has changed a little :-)
I’ve taken a good, hard look at the site and removed some of the clutter, as well as changing the navigation to a top horizontal menu bar. The Search box has also made a welcome return -with nearly 3,500 news entries so far it should make info easier to find!
As usual with these things, if you spot any site errors then please email me and let me know.

The 26th PhotographyBLOG Portfolio has been submitted by Trevor Haldenby.
“My name’s Trevor Haldenby, I’m a Canadian young-photographer who has chosen to, for most recent work, head out of the homeland to Hong Kong, China, and Japan.
My photographs tend to reflect or explore the symbiotic relationship between the natural and the technological, usually with an emphasis on the resemblance between modern-day technological artifacts [telephone poles, hydro lines] and ancient ruins. To me, these modern artifacts come across as ruins-before-their-time, a fascinating thing to observe
and document.
This fall I’ll be studying at the HABITAT new media think tank at the Canadian Film Centre, designing prototypes for the next generation of mass communication technologies.”

“The various representations are distinctly separated yet combine to an overall organic
image. The photo offers a complex variation of the traditional solution to simply photograph a given pattern, by letting us look through the pattern and see the same pattern in variations.”
Prize: Photobird.com one-year subscription with 100 megabytes of storage space
Kindly donated by Photobird.com.

The 24th PhotographyBLOG Portfolio has been submitted by Mikhail Radin.
“These images are a subset of my ‘Spring’ album; the rest are available on my website along with a lot of other photo content. These images were taken around New York City in various parks during the Spring of 2003 and 2004. I use a Canon PowerShot s45.
Photography lets me experience my surroundings with a deeper appreciation and understanding. It forces me to pay attention to minor details that otherwise go unnoticed. It makes travel that much more rewarding.”
