HOME is a major collaborative project between FUJIFILM Corporation and Magnum Photos. Each participating Magnum photographer was invited to explore the subject of HOME - a theme chosen for its global nature and the inherently human sentiment – in their own style and sensibility. The project will be showcased in exhibitions in New York (Milk Gallery, 2-14 March 2018), London (The Vinyl Factory, 18 – 27 May 2018), Paris (Gallery Joseph, 10-17 June 2018), Toyko (Daikanyama Hillside Forum, 21-30 July 2018) and Cologne (Koeln Messe, 26-19 September).

The Panasonic LUMIX GH5S is a new flagship compact system camera aimed firmly at videographers, sitting alongside the G9 and GH5 models. Whereas the recently released Lumix G9 is aimed at stills photographers and the popular GH5 at both stills and videographers, the new GH5s has been designed and developed for professional filmmakers. It features a brand new 10.2 megapixel sensor, 4K 60p / 50p video recording in Cinema 4K, internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording, Dual Native ISO Technology, Timecode IN/OUT compatibility, 14-bit RAW recording, true Multi-Aspect Ratios, and it ships with V-Log pre-installed (rather than being a paid upgrade, as on the GH5).

The Panasonic LUMIX GH5S is a new compact system camera designed and developed for professional filmmakers. The GH5S achieves the highest-ever sensitivity and video image quality in the history of LUMIX cameras thanks to a new 10.2-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, Venus Engine and Dual Native ISO Technology. The GH5S is the world’s first mirrorless camera to offer 4K 60p / 50p video recording in Cinema 4K (4096x2160), features internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording, and ships with V-Log pre-installed on the camera.

The Panasonic LUMIX GH5S will be available from end of January 2018 and will retail for £2199 / €2549.99 / $2499 (body only).

GoPro has announced a series of cost-cutting measures today, including its decision to exit the drone market and reduce its workforce. This will enable an $80 million reduction in operating expenses compared to 2017 levels. In 2018, GoPro will continue to innovate with several new products aimed at new and existing customers.

The new Insta360 Nano S turns turns an iPhone into the ultimate tool for capturing, sharing and communicating in 360°. The Nano S can record 4K 360° video and shoot 20 megapixel 360° photos and introduces 360° Video Chat and the new MultiView feature.

DJI has unveiled two new handheld camera stabilisers at CES 2018 – the Osmo Mobile 2 for smartphones and the Ronin-S for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 (£139) has a lightweight design that supports portrait orientation, simpler controls with cinematic zoom, a longer battery life for more filming, and intelligent features.

The Ronin-S is DJI’s first single-handed stabiliser for DSLR and mirrorless cameras, with a compact form and dedicated buttons to control camera settings and precise positioning.

The AF 14mm F2.8 EF is Samyang's first ever autofocus lens for Canon full-frame DSLR cameras. The optical construction features a total of 15 lenses in 10 groups that include 7 special optic lenses to maximise image quality. The compact Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 EF weighs only 485g without lens caps and hood and also features weather-sealing and a built-in AF/MF switch.

The Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 EF lens will be available globally from February, with a suggested retail price of £649 in the UK.

The Flashpoint XPLOR 600 PRO TTL is a new wireless strobe system with TTL connectivity to Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic and Olympus cameras. With a guide number of 285 feet at ISO 100, the lights are designed for both studio and location use. The Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS is a new compact, lightweight APS-C lens. Featuring a versatile 18-135mm focal length, aperture range of F3.5-F5.6 and optical SteadyShot stabilisation, the Sony 18-135mm lens produces outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness throughout the entire zoom range, while its maximum magnification ratio of 0.29x and minimum focus distance of 0.45m promises pleasing bokeh and background defocus. The Sony E 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS (SEL18135) will be available from February 2018, priced at approximately £570 / $600 US / $780 CA.

Sony will also be releasing a new silver colour option for the popular A6300 camera. The sleek new silver camera body will be available in February 2018 at select retailers in Europe.
