Hasselblad have released a major update for the X1D II 50C and 907X Special Edition medium format mirrorless cameras. Firmware Update 1.2.0 adds 2.7K (2720 x 1530) and HD (1920 x 1080) video capture, Focus Bracketing, Image Rating and more.

Fujifilm have announced an initiative to donate instax instant cameras to intensive care units across the UK to help frontline healthcare workers share a smile with patients from behind their personal protective equipment (PPE).

The initiative sees photography technology play its part in support the NHS through COVID-19 pandemic, allowing NHS staff to attach instant photo prints to their hospital gowns and show their patients a comforting smile.

The initiative has so far seen cameras donated to 31 NHS hospitals across the country.

Pentax have today announced a new-generation Star series lens, the HD PENTAX-D FA★85mmF1.4ED SDM AW.

Tamron have just released a teaser image and video for their next Sony Alpha full-frame lens. Claimed by Tamron to be "a revolutionary new mirrorless lens offering performance plus versatility", it sounds as though Tamron are about to add a travel-zoom lens to the six lenses that they have already released so far for Sony E-mount.

Irix has extended its line of film lenses with the ultra wide-angle Irix Cine 15mm T2.6.

Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 is available in Canon EF, Sony E, MFT, and PL mounts, each with either metric or imperial focus markings, priced at 1195 Euro.

Panasonic has just introduced a new interchangeable standard zoom lens, the Lumix S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 (S-R2060), based on the L-Mount system for its Lumix S Series full-frame mirrorless cameras.

The new Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm lens will be available to purchase from July 2020 priced at £619 (€669 Ireland).

In light of the shift to online meetings with most people in the world working from home, Fujifilm's engineers in Japan have developed a little bit of software which converts some X Series and GFX cameras into webcams - including the 100 megapixel GFX 100 medium format camera! FUJIFILM X Webcam is now available to download.

The Sony ZV-1 is a completely new compact camera designed from the ground-up for vloggers. With the majority of 6-12 year old children now aspiring to be a vlogger, Sony feel that the time has come to launch a unique product that specifically caters to the needs of YouTube creators.

Sony want you to use the ZV1 instead of a smartphone - apparently 73% of vloggers currently use a phone. Sony claim that you can get better professional quality video with smooth bokeh by simply hitting the dedicated Bokeh button on top of the camera. The ZV1 changes the physical aperture to do this, making it as wide as possible, and uses ND filter too, rather than simulating the effect.

Sony also point out that the selfie cameras on mobiles are usually the worst quality,another advantage for the ZV1, while the large windshield on top of the Z-V1 and the mic input on the side combine to provide much better audio.

Finally, the Sony ZV1 has built-in wi-fi/bluetooth and apps for sharing to mobile phone, including a proxy option for quicker lower-quality sharing.

Available in the first week of June, it will be competitively priced at £700 in the UK, almost half the price of the RX100 VII, making it a great B-camera for the A7-series.

The GP-VPT2BT Bluetooth wireless remote commander will be available in the UK for half-price at launch. It features a C1 button which can turn also turn on the ZV1's Bokeh function.

Panasonic and Atomos have just announced that the Atomos Ninja V and Panasonic LUMIX S1H 5.9K RAW over HDMI combination has now been delayed due to an "unforeseen technical issue (that) has come to light in the final rounds of beta testing that needs rectification prior to shipping."

Panasonic are still releasing Version 2.0 Firmware for the Lumix S1H camera today, but it will no longer include the RAW video data output function.

Samyang have updated two of their manual focus prime lenses for DSLR cameras, the MF 14mm F2.8 Mk2 and MF 85mm F1.4 Mk2, now sporting 9 aperture blades, focus lock and de-click aperture functions, weather-sealing and an updated exterior design.

The new Samyang MF 14mm f2.8 Mk2 and MF 85mm f1.4 Mk2 lenses will be available in early June with prices ranging from £359 to £439 in the UK.
