Canon has introduced two new Tilt-Shift lenses, the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II and the TS-E 17mm f/4L. Both the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II and the TS-E 17mm f/4L are specialty lenses ideal for landscape and architectural photography and are compatible with all Canon EOS SLR cameras. The TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, a replacement for Canon’s TS-E 24mm f/3.5L introduced in 1991, has significantly improved operability with low distortion when photographing buildings. The TS-E 17mm f/4L is the world’s shortest focal length Tilt-Shift lens with full-frame 35mm coverage. Canon’s new TS Revolving System allows tilting and shifting lens movements to be adjusted in parallel or at right angles to each other, with detents at 45? intervals. Both lenses will be available in May, with the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II priced at $2,199 / £2399.99 / €2659.99 and the TS-E 17mm f/4L at $2,499 / £2749.99 / €3049.99.

The CanoScan LiDE 700F is the first Canon scanner to offer 9600x9600dpi optical resolution for film. Replacing the CanoScan 4400F model, the CanoScan 700F delivers rapid, high-quality scanning of documents, photos and 35mm film, complete-ing an A4 full colour scan at 300dpi in just 12 seconds. It includes QARE dust and scratch removal for photos, which automatically reduces dust, scratches and grain effect. The CanoScan LiDE 700F will be available from April priced at £119 / €135 / $129.99.

Kodak Ektar 100 film is now available in 120 medium format. Ektar 100 is aimed at commercial photographers and advanced amateurs for applications such as nature, travel, fashion and product photography. “The response to the introduction of EKTAR 100 Film has been amazing, with many requests to make the new film available in medium format. 120-size roll film is widely used for a broad range of photographic applications including ultra high-resolution photography” said Carolyn Walsh, Product Sales Director, CDG, FPG, UK & Ireland, Eastman Kodak Company. The new Kodak Ektar Film in 120 format will be available in the UK from April 2009.

The Digital Foci Photo Book is a new portable digital photo album. Featuring an 8 inch, 800x600 pixel LCD color screen and 4GB of internal memory, the Digital Foci Photo Book offers over 2.5 hours of battery life. It can also display RAW files from a wide selection of DSLRs, in addition to JPEG, BMP, GIF, and TIF image formats. The Digital Foci Photo Book will be available in May 2009 for $189.

A-DATA have released a 32GB Turbo SDHC Class 6 Memory Card. The new industry-leading card lets you save up to 6600 high-res photos (10 megapixels) or 5 hours of video (13Mbps HD). The A-DATA 32GB Turbo SDHC Class 6 card offers Read/Write speeds at least 6MB per second.

The Sony Cyber-shot H20 is a new 10 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss 10x optical zoom lens. If you need high performance in a compact, go-anywhere package, the Sony H20 teams a powerful 10x optical zoom range and HD 720p movie recording with a 3-inch LCD screen. The Sony H20 camera will be available in black for about $280 / £269.

The Sony Cyber-shot T900 is a slim digital camera which features a 3.5 inch touchscreen and 720p HD movie recording. Measuring 15.1mm, the Sony T900 offers 12.1 megapixels, 4x optical zoom lens, Optical SteadyShot, Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology, and Intelligent Scene Recognition. The new 720p HD movie recording captures video clips at a smooth 30 frames per second, with up to 60 mins of HD video and stereo sound fitting on a 4GB MemoryStick. The Sony T900 will be available in silver, black, red and bronze for about $380 / £369.

The Sony T90 will be available in silver, black, pink, blue and brown for about $300 / £289.

The Sony W290 features a 3 inch LCD screen, Optical SteadyShot, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology, and can record 720p HD movie clips. The Sony W290 will be available from mid-March 2009.

The Sony Cyber-shot W270 is a new 12 megapixel compact camera with a 5x, 28mm wide-angle optical zoom lens. The Sony W270 features a 2.7 inch LCD screen, Optical SteadyShot, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technology, and can record 720p HD movie clips. The Sony W270 will be available from mid-March 2009 for about £239.

The Sony Cyber-shot W230 is a new 12 megapixel compact camera with a 4x, 30mm wide-angle optical zoom lens. The Sony W230 features a 3 inch LCD screen, Optical SteadyShot, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Enhanced Face Detection and Smile Shutter technologys. The Sony W230 will be available from mid-March 2009.

The Sony Cyber-shot S980 is a new easy-to-use 12.1 megapixel compact camera. The Sony S980 features a 4x optical zoom lens, SteadyShot for clearer handheld shooting, and Face Detection technology. The Sony S980 will be available in silver, black and pink from end-February 2009

The Samsung SL820 and SL620 are new 12.2 megapixel cameras with 3 inch LCD screens and 5x zooms. The SL820 (known as the IT100 in Europe) offers a 28mm wide angle lens and 720p HD video recording, while the SL620 has a standard 35mm lens and 640x480 pixel video. Both the SL820 and SL620 (known as the PL65 in Europe) feature both Optical and Digital Image Stabilization, Smart Auto mode, Smart Album, Face Detection, Blink Detection, Smile Shot, and Beauty Shot. The Samsung SL820 will be available in May for $279.99. The Samsung SL620 will be available in March for $199.99. The Samung IT100 will be available in silver, black, and red for £229 from April 2009. The Samsung PL65 will cost £179 and comes in Black, Pink, Silver and Dark Grey, available from March.

The Samsung SL202 and SL30 are new family-friendly 10 megapixel cameras with 3x zooms. The SL202 (known as the PL50 in Europe) has a brushed metal finish, 2.7 inch LCD screen and Smart Auto, Smart Album, Face Detection, Blink Detection, Smile Shot, and Beauty Shot modes. Like the SL202, the SL30 (known as the ES15 in Europe)  also offers MJPEG, VGA video recording, Face Detection, which detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure, as well as Beauty Shot, which automatically enhances subjects’ skin tones. The Samsung SL202 will be available in March 2009 for $149.99, and the Samsung SL30 for $99.99. The Samsung PL50 will cost £119 and is available in Candy Pink, Black and Silver. The Samsung ES15 will be available in Candy Pink, Silver, White and Dark Grey for £79 from April 2009.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 competition is now open for entries. The Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 contest has 17 categories (14 for adults and three for children). Prize money is £10,000 for the overall winner and up to £1,000 for the category winners. Last year’s overall winner was American photographer Steve Winter for his image Snowstorm leopard (pictured). The closing date is 27th March 2009.

Phase One will be demonstrating their range of Digital Backs and Capture One software at this year’s Focus on Imaging show. The Profoto D1 Monolight System is a new range of digital compact electronic flashes. Available in 250, 500 or 1000 watt-second versions, the Profoto D1 monolight system can be adjusted from full to 1/64th power in 1/10th stop intervals, offering a range of seven f/stops in precise, repeatable and consistent output. The Fujifilm FinePix S1500fd is a new 10 megapixel camera with a 12x optical zoom. Offering a focal length of 33-396mm, the Fujifilm S1500fd is an SLR-styled digital camera with Dual Image Stabilization, Automatic Scene Recognition, 2.7 inch LCD screen, electronic viewfinder and ISO up to ISO 1600 at full resolution. The Fujifilm FinePix S1500fd will be available in March 2009 for $249.95.
