The Leica M-A (Typ 127) is a new purely mechanical rangefinder camera. The Leica M-A (Typ 127) stands for a return to photography in its most original form. Leica have unveiled a new generation of the Leica Summarit-M-Lenses with improved performance and new design. In comparison with the previous models, these new lenses with a maximum aperture of f/2.4 offer improved performance characteristics and new lens design. The range of focal lengths available in the Leica Summarit-M-Lens family remains the same, with 35, 50, 75 and 90 mm. For the first time, they are now available in a choice of black and silver anodised finishes.

Sony have updated their lens roadmap for their Full-Frame E-Mount camera range. In addition to the 6 new lenses that have been unveiled recently, there's a placeholder for a new "Large aperture prime" lens. The new roadmap also states "Short term goal: a total of more than 20 FE Lenses" will be achieved by the end of 2015, which would go a long way towards addressing one of the main criticisms of Sony's mirrorless camera system, namely the lack of lens support.
