Ricoh have announced the development of a high performance prime lens, the HD PENTAX-D FA 85mm F1.4 SDM AW.

Scheduled for late 2020, this new 85mm optic aims to provide the best possible image quality with uniform sharpness from the centre to the edges of the image.

Phase One has announced its new Lens Roadmap for the XT Camera System.

The current XT Rodenstock Lens Range is set to expand significantly, and with it grow the applications of the XT Camera System

In 2020, three new lenses will be available for the XT. A 50mm, which will already begin shipping in May, a 90mm and a tele-photo lens.

In response to a phenomenon that may occur when using the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR camera, Canon is introducing a future firmware update for the camera. The firmware update is scheduled to be available in early April.

The phenomenon may occur when the camera is being used with the electronic level set to “Show” in the viewfinder display. In rare cases, the camera may not perform as it was designed to when operating the AF-ON button or shutter button.

After last week's UK Photography Show was axed because of Covid-19, today Photokina 2020, the leading international trade fair for photography, video and imaging, has also been cancelled.

Interestingly, this decision was made not just because of coronavirus, but also because "the imaging market was already subject to strongly dynamic movements.This trend will now gain momentum and must be factored into plans for the upcoming photokina."

The next installment of Photokina is now scheduled for 2 years time, 18 to 21 May 2022.
