Hasselblad have just announced four new X System accessories - the X1D II Strap, USB 3.0 Cable Type-C To Type-A/M, USB 3.0 Cable Type-C To Type-C, and the XCD 35-75 Lens Shade.

Panasonic have just released a new firmware update for the Lumix S1H full-frame mirrorless camera which enables 5.9K/29.97p and 59.94p 4K RAW video data over HDMI to the Atomos Ninja V HDR monitor-recorder.

Canon have revealed more details about the video specification of the upcoming Canon EOS R5 camera, claiming that it "will offer video recording capabilities unseen in any other mirrorless camera". These will include 8K RAW internal and 4K at 120p!

Canon have officially confirmed the following video modes will be offered by the EOS R5:

• Non-cropped, internal recording 8K video capture – up to 29.97fps in 4:2:2 10-bit in Canon Log (H.265) or 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265)
• Non-cropped internal recording 4K video capture – up to 119.88fps in 4:2:2 10-bit in Canon Log (H.265) or 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265)
• 4:2:2 10-bit in Canon Log or 4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ output via HDMI at 4K 59.94fps

The company's renowned Dual Pixel AF system will also be available in all video modes at all resolutions and frame rates, and Canon Log will be available in 8K and 4K internal recording modes.

In addition, the EOS will feature dual memory card slots, now confirmed to be 1x CFexpress and 1x SD UHS-II, while the Canon R5's 5-axis optical IBIS will enable lens IS and camera IBIS to be combined.

The Samyang AF 75mm f1.8 FE is the World's lightest and smallest autofocus 75mm lens, weighing in at just 230g.

Designed for full-frame Sony Alpha cameras, the Samyang 75mm lens is comprised of 10 elements in 9 groups, including 5 special elements (3 Extra Low Dispersion and 2 High Refractive). It utilises a new Stepping Motor (STM) for fast, quiet and accurate focusing, has 9 aperture blades, and offers a minimum Focusing Distance of 0.69m.

The Samyang AF 75mm f1.8 FE will be available in May 2020 priced at £379.99 (inc VAT).

The Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 SE is a new ultra-fast wide-angle prime lens for Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras.

The “SE” (Still Edition) branded lens is smaller and cheaper than the standard Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 lens thanks to the removal of the declick mechanism for video recording and a simpler internal design.

The Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 SE is comprised of 8 elements in 6 groups, has 10 aperture blades, weighs 340g and measures 66.5 × 51.9mm.

The suggested retail price (excluding tax) is JPY 100,000 and the lens is scheduled to be released in June 2020.

The Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 SE is a new ultra-fast standard prime lens for Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras.

The “SE” (Still Edition) branded lens is smaller and cheaper than the standard Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 lens thanks to the removal of the declick mechanism for video recording and a simpler internal design.

The Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.2 SE is comprised of 8 elements in 6 groups, has 12 aperture blades, weighs 383g and measures 66.5 × 58.5mm.

The suggested retail price (excluding tax) is JPY 115,000 and the lens is scheduled to be released in July 2020.

Yongnuo have announced the YN 50mm F1.8 S DA DSM, a fast-fifty prime lens for Sony E-mount cameras.

It's priced at 699 Yuan and will be available in the US at Amazon and B&H.

Canon has released firmware version 1.1.0 for the EOS M6 Mark II mirrorless camera which adds the much-requested option to capture movies at a frame rate of 24p.

Canon USA have announced that they will be holding a livestream, or virtual press conference, on April 20th for their "new professional imaging products and technologies".

As April 20th is slap bang in the midle of the date range for this year's cancelled NAB show in Las Vegas, it's probably safe to assume that Canon will be focusing on their cine and camcorder product lines in the livestream, which will start at 1:00pm EDT (10:00am PDT) on Monday, April 20, 2020.

They may, however, spring a surprise and also formally announce all the details about the new Canon EOS R5 professional mirrorless camera, which we saw in person last month, as well as the much-rumoured EOS R6, said to be a more affordable step-down model from the R5.

We'll all need to tune in on April 20th to find out just exactly what Canon have up their virtual sleeves.

Fujifilm have just released new firmware updates for the X-T3 and X-T30 cameras and the XF 16-80mm lens.

Canon has again maintained the number one share of the global market for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras for the 17th consecutive year, running from 2003 to 2019.

From the debut of the breakthrough EOS 300D in September 2003, Canon has continued to launch a range of groundbreaking products. Canon released six interchangeable-lens camera models in 2019.

Canon have announced the development of the new EOS R5 flagship mirrorless camera, which offers cinematic-quality 8K movie recording using the full width of the sensor at up to 30p and support for Canon’s renowned Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, high-speed 20fps electronic / 12fps mechanical burst shooting, unparalleled in-body image stabilisation which works in combination with the lens stabilisation system, dual memory card slots, advanced animal AF recognising dogs, cats and birds, and support for the new image.canon cloud platform service.

The Canon EOS R5 will also have a fully articulating LCD screen and a thumb-operated AF joystick, rather than the divisive MFn bar used on the EOS R.

A preview of the Canon R5 will be on display at the 2020 WPPI Show (February 25-27) in Las Vegas.

Reference exhibits for the EOS R5 and RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM, Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x will be on display in the Canon booth at the CP+ Camera and Photo Imaging Show 2020, to be held from February 27 to March 1 at the Pacifico Yokohama convention hall in Yokohama, Japan.

Panasonic have released a new roadmap for 2020/21 for the Lumix S series of L-mount lenses. There are sixe new additions:

• 24mm f/1.8 lens
• 50mm f/1.8 lens
• 85mm f/1.8 lens
• Fast wide-angle zoom lens
• Standard zoom lens
• Telephoto zoom lens

The 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens that was on the previous version of the roadmap has now been removed.

The Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G is a compact, lightweight, ultra-wide prime – the widest full-frame prime lens in the E-mount line-up - with excellent G Lens resolution and bokeh.
