At Paris Photo this year, as a centennial celebration of Robert Capa’s life and work, Daniel Blau will present a collection of more than 65 rare vintage pictures documenting World War II in Europe from 1943-45. Born on 22 October 1913 as Friedmann Endre Ernő in Budapest, Hungary, Robert Capa was one of the most famous photojournalists and war photographers of all time. Having covered the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Second World War, he co-founded Magnum Photos in 1947, with Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, David Seymour and William Vandivert. As a Magnum photographer he documented the Arab-Israeli War of 1948 and the final stage of the First Indochina War, in which he died a violent death at the age of 40. In addition to the Capa collection, Daniel Blau will also organise an exhibition of images depicting Germany's "misled youth" during Hitler's rule from 1933 to 1945. The exhibitions will be on display from 14-17 November 2013 at the Grand Palais, Avenue Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris.

2013 is the 30th year of The AOP Photographers Awards. To coincide with this special anniversary, a free exhibition will be open to the public for one weekend this October. Images from this year’s finalists of The AOP Photographers Awards - open to AOP photographer members - and The AOP Open Awards - open to everyone - will be on display at The Truman Brewery, off Brick Lane and opposite the legendary Rough Trade East record store, right in the creative heart of London’s East End. The first one, Beyond the rule of thirds: themes and trends in landscape photography, will feature wildlife photographer Mark Bauer who will examine some of the common themes in the design of landscape photography, including the most important technical consideration, composition. This webinar will take place from 4pm on 19th September. Kenny's recent series, “Last Night I Sang Karaoke with Bill Murray” centres on the idea of a fantasy lifestyle. From 19th August, the Met Museum in NYC will be hosting an exhibition of portraits by Julia Margaret Cameron, one of photography's earliest masters. Cameron (1815-1879) blended an unorthodox technique, a deeply spiritual sensibility, and a Pre-Raphaelite–inflected aesthetic to create a gallery of vivid portraits and a mirror of the Victorian soul. The showing of 35 works is drawn entirely from the Metropolitan’s own collection, including major works from the Rubel Collection acquired in 1997 and the Gilman Collection acquired in 2005. The photographs will be on display until 5 January 2014 at the Howard Gilman Gallery.
