At Paris Photo this year, as a centennial celebration of Robert Capa’s life and work, Daniel Blau will present a collection of more than 65 rare vintage pictures documenting World War II in Europe from 1943-45. Born on 22 October 1913 as Friedmann Endre Ernő in Budapest, Hungary, Robert Capa was one of the most famous photojournalists and war photographers of all time. Having covered the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Second World War, he co-founded Magnum Photos in 1947, with Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, David Seymour and William Vandivert. As a Magnum photographer he documented the Arab-Israeli War of 1948 and the final stage of the First Indochina War, in which he died a violent death at the age of 40. In addition to the Capa collection, Daniel Blau will also organise an exhibition of images depicting Germany's "misled youth" during Hitler's rule from 1933 to 1945. The Photographic Museum of Humanity (PMH) today launched its ninth online exhibition, entitled 'Working Class.' The five galleries host the works of recognised photographers of the PMH online community like Bryan Schutmaat, Nick Ballon, Christian Rodriguez and Tatyana Palyga among others.

2013 is the 30th year of The AOP Photographers Awards. To coincide with this special anniversary, a free exhibition will be open to the public for one weekend this October. Images from this year’s finalists of The AOP Photographers Awards - open to AOP photographer members - and The AOP Open Awards - open to everyone - will be on display at The Truman Brewery, off Brick Lane and opposite the legendary Rough Trade East record store, right in the creative heart of London’s East End. The Manfrotto School of Xcellence has announced two UK local hero free webinar photo tutorials. The first one, Beyond the rule of thirds: themes and trends in landscape photography, will feature wildlife photographer Mark Bauer who will examine some of the common themes in the design of landscape photography, including the most important technical consideration, composition. This webinar will take place from 4pm on 19th September. The second session, Coastal landscapes – Light and Motion, will see professional landscape photographer Ross Hoddinott present his work and explore how motion and light play an important role in the success of seascapes, including exposure and filtration. Canon Europe is once again supporting the British Fashion Council at the September 2013 London Fashion Week and Vodafone London Fashion Weekend.The dedicated team of Canon Professional Services (CPS) technicians at the CPS centre at Somerset House will provide accredited professional photographers with advice, essential maintenance services, equipment loans and help with minor repairs. As part of its initiative to support fashion designers, Canon has been working with Henry Holland to bring unique imagery to his House of Holland show and print his actual catwalk stage using an Océ Arizona flatbed printer.  Canon will also collaborate with Ashish to create an instant Look Book about his eccentric and unique collection mixing Western and Eastern cultures, using Canon’s printing facilities.

Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay is the first in a series of events designed to showcase the Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera (pictured). On show Wednesday 18th to Monday 23rd September, from Olympus Image Space @ The Loading Bay features an exhibition of new images by photographer Gabrielle Motola - Women of Iceland. Images from Olympus Ambassadors will also be on display, including one of the first images shot on the new OM-D E-M1 by Olympus Principal Photographer Damien McGillicuddy. Patrick Lichfield's Caribbean images will be on display at the Little Black Gallery in London from 29 October - 7 December 2013. From 3rd September until 29th December, the  Library of Birmingham will be hosting Reference Works, a major new exhibition of photographs by Michael Collins, Brian Griffin, Andrew Lacon and Stuart Whipps. The exhibition is the product of the largest and most important photography commission ever undertaken in the city and will be the inaugural exhibition in the new Discovery Gallery at the Library of Birmingham. 

Datacolor has announced two colour management webinars for September. The first session, entitled Professional Images for Web and Print from Datacolor and onOne Software, will show the participants how to get the most professional Web and print look for their images from Datacolor’s Spyder4ELITE and the onOne Software’s Perfect Effects 4. The second webinar, Solving Capture Problems at the Start of your Workflow, will cover the different concerns photographers face with calibration before a shoot or prior to editing their images. The first event will take place on 5th September from 7pm, while the second webinar will commence at 7pm on 26th September.

This fall, seasoned iPhoneographer Richard Gray will be hosting two webinars at the Manfrotto School of Xcellence. The first one, Great Portraits with Your Smart Phone, will take place on 20 September 2013 from 4pm GMT, exploring questions like what do you want to say about the person you are photographing? what lighting would work best? what angle should you use? and so on. In the second webinar, Great Sporting Images with Your Smart Phone, scheduled for 10 October 2013, 4pm GMT, attendees will learn key techniques, such as panning and burst, to capture moving subjects involved in fast-paced sport. Lomography’s Basement Gallery East has announced an upcoming exhibition of works by Stephen Kenny. Kenny's recent series, “Last Night I Sang Karaoke with Bill Murray” centres on the idea of a fantasy lifestyle. The first print of the collection was inspired by a real-life event, which is featured in the series, and spun off other fantasy activities such as playing a round of golf with Alice Cooper or baking cookies with Anna Wintour. From 19th August, the Met Museum in NYC will be hosting an exhibition of portraits by Julia Margaret Cameron, one of photography's earliest masters. Cameron (1815-1879) blended an unorthodox technique, a deeply spiritual sensibility, and a Pre-Raphaelite–inflected aesthetic to create a gallery of vivid portraits and a mirror of the Victorian soul. The showing of 35 works is drawn entirely from the Metropolitan’s own collection, including major works from the Rubel Collection acquired in 1997 and the Gilman Collection acquired in 2005. The photographs will be on display until 5 January 2014 at the Howard Gilman Gallery.
