Lomo'Instant Automat Dahab

The autumn edition Lomo'Instant Automat Dahab is a new edition of the Lomo’Instant Automat instant film camera (read review).

The Lomographic Society has introduced two new editions of the Lomo'Instant film camera. The Lomographic Society has announced the Lomo'Instant Panama instant film camera. Lomography Adds 15mm Focal Length to Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

Lomography today announced the addition of a new additional focal length to the Neptune Convertible Art Lens system, called the Naiad 3.8/15 Art Lens. Presently raising funds on Kickstarter, the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System is a prime lens kit for every photographer who has ever lamented the size and weight of high quality prime lenses. It comprises a base element which mounts to a wide range of film and digital cameras, and four front lens elements of fixed focal lengths: the Thalassa 3.5/35, the Despina 2.8/50, the Proteus 4.0/80 and now the Naiad 15mm. Available as an add-on, from now until the end of the campaign, on 7th June, backers will be able to purchase the lens for just $249 – saving 45% on the estimated retail price.

Lomography Partners with Nixon

The Lomographic Society have teamed up with Nixon for the new edition of the Nixon Surf Challenge, an international competition that gathers the best surfers from all over the world. Lomography gave photographers Bastien Bonnarme and Benjamin Wu Tiu Yen a selection of film cameras and asked them to document the Nixon Surf Challenge which took place around the coast of Ireland. The photographs they took during the contest will be exhibited at the Lomography Gallery Store Soho (3 Newburgh Street, London W1F 7RE) from 15 September 2016.

The Lomographic Society has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the commercialisation of its new Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art lens. The Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens has been designed by Lomography’s technicians based on an 1839 design – and condensed into a bold brass lens for modern analogue and digital cameras – available in Canon EF OR Nikon F mounts. "Photographers and videographers can delve into an extensive variation of moods and special effect: silky soft focus at f/2.9, crisp sharp shots from f/5.6 onwards, and a focal length of 64mm," the society says. The Daguerreotype Achromat Lens works with a Waterhouse Aperture Plate system, which allows full creativity with depth of field and bokeh effects. The Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens is available through Kickstarter, where in addition to exclusive offers and prices, backers can secure their own Daguerreotype Achromat Lens from the first-ever batch – estimated to start shipping in August of this year.

The Lomo’Instant Wide is now available for regular purchase around the world. Featuring a moderate wide-angle 90mm lens, the Lomo’Instant Wide uses Fujifilm Instax Wide film, which has an exposure area of 64mm x 99mm. The lens cap of the Lomo’Instant Wide doubles as a remote control that allows easy and convenient self-portraits, group photos and long exposures. The camera has three different shooting modes including Auto, Bulb and a Fixed Shutter Speed mode for studio settings. The Lomo'Instant Wide comes with a built-in flash as well as a standard Prontor-Compur sync terminal, allowing users to attach an external flash unit to the camera.

Film Photography Day

The Lomographic Society has announced its third Film Photography Day. Starting at 11am on April 11th, the twelve-hour event offers an in-store raffle, a Konstruktor building competition and various photography workshops & challenges. The Lomographic online community will also be rewarded for snapping away on Film Photography Day as the Society is organising an online contest, with the main prizes being 100 rolls of film and a Petzval lens.

Lomo'Instant Camera Project to Hit $1,000,000 Stretch Goal

The Kickstarter project designed to help fund the commercialisation of the Lomo'Instant camera stormed past its original $100,000 goal in the first 24 hours and is now well on its way to the 1 million mark. So far, four more color flash gels and a camera strap for each instant camera backer have been added as stretch goals. And now Lomography has announced that if the project reaches $1,000,000, there will also be a Lomo’Instant Close-Up Lens given for free to all camera backers. The macro converter, which allows a 10-15cm closest focusing distance, can be attached to the Lomo’Instant Camera’s built-in wide-angle lens. Russar+

The Lomographic Society has announced the upcoming launch of the Russar+, a rebirth of the legendary 1958 Russar MR-2 lens. With a focal length of 20mm and a maximum aperture of f/5.6, the Russar+ is compatible with all L39/Mmount analogue cameras (and nearly all CSCs when using approriate mount adapters). On a 35mm film camera, the Russar+ offers an angle of view of 94°. Going on sale in July 2014, the lens is already available for pre-order in the Lomography Online Shop, priced at €599 .

Kodak Alaris and Lomography Make a Combined Commitment to Film

In an open letter addressed to the Lomography community, Dennis Olbrich, president of Personalised Imaging at Kodak Alaris) has stated that Kodak will ‘continue to offer the full portfolio of photographic films and papers. "Whether you prefer shooting on the award-winning KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA films or an all time classic like the KODAK PROFESSIONAL TRI-X or you look 
forward to print your images on the unmatched KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Metallic paper – Kodak Alaris will continue to offer all you need," Olbrich says. The Lomographic Society responded: "As partners in the mission to keep a great selection of film available for analogue photographers, we at Lomography are thrilled by this news."

La Sardina Camera - Western Edition

Lomography has launched a new Western Edition of its La Sardina 35mm film camera. The Lomography La Sardina Western Edition comes in two versions, called Belle Starr and Clever Coyote. Known as the “Queen of the Oklahoma Outlaws,” Belle Starr has been described as “the most dangerous and wanted woman of her time”. The Sardina clone named in her honour (pictured) is decorated with filigree patterns and arrows, while the Clever Coyote carries an image of the prairie and the coyote, engraved in oxidised metal. Like all other cameras in the Sardina range, the Western Edition models feature an ultrawide 22mm lens with a fixed f/8 aperture and an 88° angle of view. The cameras can be yours for £179 each.

LomoLab London

The LomoLab is a new film processing lab housed in the basement at the Lomography Gallery Store East London. Offering on-site processing of colour and black-and-white 35mm and 120 format film, including cross processing, push and pull processing, the LomoLab will also provide a scanning service with an option to send scans directly to your LomoHome or email address. Launching on 11th March and open Monday through Friday, the LomoLab is located at 117 Commercial Street, London.

Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100

The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 is a new colour reversal film. Although it is possible to develop the Lomography X-Pro Chrome as a “normal” transparency film, using the industry-standard E-6 process, lomographers will probably love it for the strong contrasts and saturation it produces when cross-processed. In the United Kingdom, the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 is available in 35mm format, priced at £16.90 for a 3-pack.
